Chapter Text
Izuku groaned, reaching up to rub his neck.
Then he realized he couldn't move his arms.
Oh right, he's tied up.
"Um..." he hesitantly said. He looked around, realizing he was in the 1B common area, which was filled with mushrooms.
Oh wow she really wasn't kidding when she said she likes making these everywhere... Midoriya thought. Then he hissed as a bright light turned on in front of him, and then Monoma and Tokage appeared on either side of him.
"Uh..." Izuku offered up.
"I'm only growing more and more uncertain of her tastes now..." Monoma deadpanned, looking at Izuku condescendingly.
"Oh hush! You did knock him out!" Tokage said, offering Izuku an apologetic grin.
"You told me to!" Monoma sputtered out in defense.
"And you... agreed to it." Tokage bit back, sticking her tongue out at him.
To that, Monoma had no defense.
"Anyways, sorry about knocking you out but were on borrowed time anyways and we need a few questions answered. Gotta further the romance y'know?" Tokage told him.
"Bw- huh? Romance? What?" Izuku choked out, his cheeks heating up.
"I told you. He's hopeless." Monoma lamented, facepalming himself in agony.
Tokage growled at him, and Monoma wisely shut up. Those teeth of hers weren't just for show.
"So..." Tokage said, pushing the light away so it wouldn't blind Midoriya.
"First question. What do you think of Kinoko." Tokage asked bluntly.
"Huh? What? What does that have to do with... this?" Izuku asked nervously, gesturing towards himself, tied up on the sofa.
"Silence brute! We'll be the ones asking the questions." Monoma scoffed.
You're really taking this bad cop thing seriously aren't you? Tokage chuckled, shaking her head.
"Just answer the question Midoriya." She said.
"I uh..." Izuku stuttered out, blushing as he thought about Kinoko. "I think she's pretty great."
They both deadpanned at her.
"That's your best?" Monoma asked.
"C'monnnn, be more specific! 'Pretty great' is incredibly bland!" Tokage groaned, poking his forehead rapidly.
"Alright alright! I uh... I think she's a genuinely kind person. She's caring and considerate... and she has a pretty cool quirk..." Izuku said, thinking more and more about Kinoko.
Tokage took the opportunity to send a message to her shroom buddy. Time to play matchmaker...
Monoma noticed, and simply rolled his eyes.
"She's nice to listen to and fun to hang out with. I liked listening to her talk about mushrooms, it reminded me alot about how I talk about heroes hehe..." Izuku chuckled, blushing furiously.
"Go on..." Tokage egged him on.
"I uh... I kind of... admire how hard she's pushed her quirk." Izuku said, looking around the room. Even as he watched, a few of the shrooms were starting to wither away.
"It's pretty impressive."
Tokage hummed in thought. "So you like her character?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Enough to go out with her?" Monoma asked bluntly.
Midoriya choked on his spit, coughing and sputtering.
"Tact Monoma! Tact!" Tokage chided him, poking his chest. He raised his hands in surrender and backed away.
"Alright, no beating around the bush. Do you like her? Would you like to go on a date with her?" Tokage asked, shaking his shoulders.
"I uh... this is all so sudden!" Izuku cried out in defense. Tokage groaned.
"Just answer the question." Monoma demanded, shining the light back in his face.
"Alright alright! I... yes!" Izuku admitted, shutting them up.
"Well I'll be..." Monoma huffed out.
"Points for honesty." Tokage told him with a grin.
Izuku's heart was beating rapidly right now, and he was pretty sure he was steaming from his ears.
I can't believe I just said that...
Tokage and Monoma looked at each other, then back at him.
"Very well. Since Komori seems to like you... I will reluctantly support you. But if you break our classmate's heart, then there will be carnage." Monoma threatened him.
Is that his version of a blessing or something? Izuku asked, freaked out.
Tokage laughed, then ran a hand through her hair. "Alright, I guess now we just need to-"
She was cut off by Monoma's sudden muffled yell. Izuku squeaked in shock as Monoma was suddenly wrapped around in an excessive amount of vines.
Tokage was almost completely wrapped up, but she managed to detach her head. Before she could float away, Kendo's big hands snatched her.
Tokage gave a small nervous laugh as she looked at Kendo's disapproving glare.
"I guess now you just need to do nothing." Kendo finished her sentence.
Ibara looked at the two in disapproval, then looked at Midoriya apologetically.
"Too tight..." Monoma winced.
"Keep talking and I'll ask Ibara to make them tighter." Kendo growled as she walked over to Izuku and untied him.
"Really? Were you planning on leaving him here all wrapped up with a little bow for Kinoko to find?" Tokage deadpanned at her friend.
"Aha... no?" Tokage lied weakly.
"How did you even know they did this?" Izuku asked Kendo, stretching his arms.
"Well..."
Kendo was watching T.V. when Shiozaki came down. They exchanged greetings and kept doing what they were doing when...
"Oh, Kendo!"
"Hm? What's up Ibara?"
Shiozaki sat next to her. "I was wondering what it was you needed my vines for? If you need more that is."
Kendo tilted her head, confused. "Vines? Huh?"
Now it was Shiozaki's turn to look confused. "Didn't you need my vines to tie something up?"
"...No?" Kendo said, turning to face her. "Who told you that?"
"Tokage and Monoma came by earlier and asked me to lend them some of my vines. They said you needed it for something..." Ibara trailed off as she was starting to realize she'd been lied to.
Kendo's eyes widened as she had an inkling on what Tokage needed them for. "I think you've been tricked."
"It would seem that way."
Kendo huffed, turning off the T.V. and standing up. "Help me find them?"
"Of course."
"And when we didn't find you in your room, we decided to come back to our dorms and see if you were in one of their rooms. But no, you did it in the common area..." Kendo finished explaining, shaking Tokage's head in her hand.
"Hey!" the head cried out.
"I should give the two of you a lashing... tricking me for your own devious plans..." Ibara shook her head in disappointment.
"I-it's ok... I don't really mind." Izuku said, lifting up a hand hesitantly.
They all looked at him in surprise. "You don't?"
"Not really? It wasn't anything bad so I'm just relieved no one was in trouble." Izuku sighed in relief.
How can someone be so nice? they all thought.
Ibara hummed, contented. "Very well" she conceded, freeing Monoma. He begrudgingly thanked Izuku internally.
"Oh hey Komori, what're you doing hiding back here? Is Kendo scolding Monoma again?" Awase's voice echoed through the area, sounding much louder than it really was.
"Eep!" they heard her squeak out.
Kinoko walked out, having been standing in the kitchen so no one could see her. She'd wondered what Tokage had wanted, but now she knew.
Awase had merely come down for milk and had noticed her, confused. "Oops." he simply said.
Then he noticed Midoriya. "Uh... did I miss something?" Awase asked, nodding to Midoriya in greeting.
Awase pretended to not notice Monoma sprawled on the floor, or Tokage's head in Kendo's hands.
Kinoko gulped, looking anywhere but at Izuku. Awase flicked away a mushroom that had sprouted on his shoulder.
He merely proceeded to pour himself some milk, ignoring the awkward and silent energy surrounding them all.
He finally noticed no one was speaking, and looked up. "Oh don't stop on my account." he said, grabbing some milk.
"So you heard all that?" Tokage broke the ice, asking Kinoko.
"Uh... uh... uh-"
Kendo shook Tokage's head again. "Stop it! Let things run their normal pace!" she said, shaking the disembodied head with every word.
"Alright alright! I give I give!" the head cried out.
Kendo huffed, letting her friend's head go.
"I'm uh... gonna go get some fresh air" Kinoko hurriedly said, rushing outside to do just that.
Awase munched on some bread, watching this trainwreck. He wasn't even sure what it was about, but it was better than T.V.
"Psst, hey moptop, this is the part where you go after her and confess- ack!" Tokage's loud whisper was cut off as Kendo pinched her arm.
She tossed a glare at Monoma, daring him to say something. Now, Monoma may fear Kendo, but he wasn't an idiot.
He made eye contact with Midoriya. "Be a man and do it." Monoma simply said, accepting defeat.
"Alright, time out for you." Kendo huffed, chopping Monoma's neck and throwing his unconscious body on the sofa.
Awase snorted into his milk.
"You want one too?" Kendo threatened, whirling on Awase. He raised his hands in surrender, paling.
"No... but, Monoma... does have a point. Someone should go out there and make sure she's okay..." Awase said hesitantly, not wanting to incur the wrath of big sis.
"I shall go and check up on Komori." Shiozaki said, leaving to go and find Kinoko.
"Better be quick too. We've got uh... 10 minutes till curfew." Awase mumbled, finishing his milk.
After 5 minutes, Shiozaki came back empty. "I couldn't find her."
Kendo huffed. "Alright, let's go look for her." she threw another glare at Tokage, who wisely floated behind Midoriya.
Shiozaki, Kendo, Izuku and Tokage went outside to find her while Awase went to throw Monoma in his room.
"Where could she have gone off to?" Shiozaki asked.
Kendo frowned, lost in thought.
"Psst, moptop. Don't you have a secret place you go to with her? I'm betting she's there." Tokage said, willing to bet her arms on it. They'd come back anyways.
"I uh..." Izuku thought about it. "I think I know where she is." Tokage smirked, following after him as he walked towards one of the gyms.
Shiozaki and Kendo noticed, following after them.
Evidently, Izuku was right. A good portion of the exterior was covered in mushrooms, as well as a good chunk of the grass outside.
"Mm. Someone got busy." Tokage remarked as they entered.
"Oh... oh wow, someone got really busy." Tokage whispered in awe as she looked around at the mushroom infested gym. This was so much more than they'd seen before.
Every single thing was covered in mushrooms. There were even mushrooms on top of mushrooms. Only a small trail was left free of mushrooms, likely so Kinoko wouldn't step on her own creations.
"I uh... I'm gonna go look for her..." Izuku mumbled, stepping onto the mushroom free floor and trying not to step on them.
Tokage hummed in agreement, taking the opportunity to sit down. Kendo and Shiozaki walked in, eyes widening as they saw the interior of the gym.
"She did all this in 10 minutes?" Kendo asked herself in awe.
"That's pretty impressive." Shiozaki admitted.
"And Midoriya?" Kendo asked.
"Went to look for Kinoko. I'll let them handle it." Tokage mumbled. Kendo noticed her seemingly uninterested attitude, looking at her friend in confusion.
Then she noticed why she was sitting.
A good chunk of her foot was missing, detached from her main body.
"Setsuna..." Kendo said, her tone getting dangerous.
"Relax... I'm not gonna do anything drastic." she defended, turning to look at Kendo with a grin.
Shiozaki and Kendo's eyes widened as Tokage's hair shifted out of her face, revealing one of her eyes was missing as well.
Kendo huffed, dragging Shiozaki to go after Midoriya.
Meanwhile at the other end of the gym...
"Uh... Kinoko?" Izuku hesitantly called out as he finally saw the girl. She was resting against the table, popping up shroom after shroom.
Izuku looked around, a bit embarrassed to look at his... crush. She heard me say all that...
"M-Midoriya... did you really mean all that?" Kinoko asked, looking up at him as she stopped making mushrooms.
"Wh- I... yes." Izuku looked down in embarrassment, his cheeks burning.
"But... why? I'm just me." Kinoko asked, confused. She stood up, beginning to walk towards him.
"I... I like you for you. Sorry if I made things uncomfortable." Izuku apologized.
"N-no it's not that. I just... didn't think you felt the same way." Kinoko told him.
"H-huh? Y-you..." Izuku stuttered out, whipping his head to meet her eyes... or where her eyes were, covered by her hair in this case.
"Yeah I... feel that way about you too." she squeaked out, her blush showing.
Izuku took a step, and Kinoko took another step.
They walked closer and closer until they were a couple of feet apart.
He could finally see her eyes again. She was looking at him with curiosity and nervousness and affection and it just made his heart beat go crazy. She was in the same boat too.
He made to take a step towards her, and then he tripped.
His eyes widened in panic as he felt his foot catch on something and he tumbled into Kinoko. He twisted his body so he'd hit the floor and she landed on him.
"I'm sorry! I tripped on..." Izuku looked on in disbelief as the disembodied foot he'd tripped on floated away.
"Tokage..." he huffed out.
He looked back at Kinoko and realized how close they were. "Uh... uh..." his brain nearly short circuited.
He could feel her breath against his face, and even feel hear her heartbeat as her chest pressed against his.
She could feel his muscles now, her palms and chest pressing against his chest. He felt like he was chiseled from marble, and yet soft and warm. Her breath hitched as she saw the adoration in his eyes.
They leaned in closer, the distance between them lessening with every second, and then finally their lips met.
They stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity, but was really just a couple of seconds.
Their hands snaked around the others head as they tasted the other's lips, laying down on the gym floor with mushrooms sprouting all around them.
A cough broke them out of their trance.
Tokage stood there smugly with Kendo and Shiozaki, both shocked but happy.
"So... when's the wedding?"
