Work Text:
Husband.
The word dances around in his head and in his mouth, the word falling from his lips and the man next to him. Stares at the flutter of his eyelashes, red peering out at him, reflecting his face in his irises.
Husband, the demon with a soft smile as he catches him awake, eyes tracing the curve of his face, his hair.
Husband, moaned into skin and into his neck, into his ear.
Husband.
This is his husband, warm and beside him and inside him, tangled up in all the parts that matter.
The smooth sound of his voice in his ear as he said for the first time — husband — teasing and full of promises.
He shivers, thinking it so, burrows deep in his chest.
He never loved the word more than he does now.
Husband.
Always.
