Work Text:
It's Saturday, a weekend. A day where most would pick this day to be lazy or catch up for some rewinding time after a stressful week. Some had preferred to stay hauled up to their rooms, while others decided to relax in the living room. Casually watch another show where some members had guessed who would star in, others went to chill in the lounge area, reading scripts or whatever is on the news.
"Hey, I'm going to pick you up later at lunch outside your dorms later. Don't make me wait too long."
"Ehhh? Wait, Haruto-kun? What's going on?"
"Just go out with me."
The line got cut off and the hazel pink eyes of Mankai Company's director looked at her phone with so much confusion. She stared at it for a while until Tsumugi, who was next to her asked.
"Is something the matter, director?" her fellow member and good friend asked.
"I…" Izumi looked at him, "I think I just got asked out on a date?"
The dorm's resident puppy pair and gossipers let out a surprised yell. And the spring members were holding one Masumi Usui down.
"Who is it, who do I need to eliminate-"
"Woah geez Masumi-kun stop!"
"Who's the unlucky guy-" a throw pillow was hit on Tasuku's head. "Rude woman."
"Why are you so mean to me? And also excuse you, he's not unlucky." Izumi glares at him,
"So who is it?”
Back to everyone's topic to who actually cares, Izumi finally replied to everyone.
“Haruto.”
There was a moment of silence before another set of chaos rang into the dorms. Disbelief and shock at some other members, especially Tasuku and Taichi. Izumi didn't say anything else but simply laughed at them as she threw a look at Azuma who give a knowing smile and Yuki and Azami were already rushing her to her room.
When lunchtime arrived, Izumi met up with Haruto outside. The pink haired man flashes him a soft smile (that threw everyone who was watching by the door a whiplash) and his date returns the same.
"And you asked me out here because?"
"...you." he was mumbling under his breath.
"Haruto-kun I can't hear you~"
“I said I just missed you, can’t I ask my girlfriend out?”
“WHAT”
“WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN”
“Fufu~”
Haruto looks back at the rest and smirks at them.
"You understand now, right? So don't bother us anymore." And with that, he grabbed the blushing Izumi's hand and dragged her away.
The two left towards their date holding their hands together, and Izumi will not say anything about how Haruto’s ears are as pink as his hair.
They had their lunch at a curry restaurant that they’re familiar with, a place that both of them had gone on their first date after they had watched a theater show together coincidentally. That coincidence led them to become comfortable acquaintances to good friends and then turned to casual dates now. Afterwards, the two went to settle back at Haruto's apartment.
“I love you, you stubborn idiot, you know?”
A low chuckle rumbled through his chest. “I know.”
Snaking her hand around the back of his head Izumi leaned into his chest capturing his lips in a slow, heated kiss, hips automatically grinding into him as his arms tightened around her waist pulling her in closer. Slightly breathless they finally broke apart. She settled comfortably into his chest, nuzzling his shoulder happily as his fingers began tracing slow patterns across her back.
As they sat together like that in silence basking in each other’s presence, Haruto’s thoughts drifted back to a particular moment on how both ended up here. The domestically of them just huddled up on the sofa, a warm blanket around them was something Haruto tried to get used two after a few weeks of being together.
It’s the small things. How Izumi could easily gush about the things she likes to Haruto and how he would reply back to his interest in his day and director training. They share the love they have for the things they enjoy even when the other has yet to foster any fondness for it yet.
When he was in Godza, he was always annoyed and haughty. He has his tsundere like moments, it was tolerable, but he shows that he cares in his own ways.
When he was around Izumi, he realized that he was smiling more, a little less annoyed by everyone in Mankai and others and just a teensy bit more tactful with his words.
Having devoted himself to acting and being Reni’s right hand man all those years ago, he’d never thought about finding someone to spend significant time with to be happy with his life.
Maybe he’ll just shut up for now and be satisfied to have his girlfriend in his arms for now.
