“Jim, you need to take your hobgoblin home. Someone was stupid enough to spike the punch with chocolate liquor, and there’s a limit to what I can endure.”
“But, Doctor McCoy! You take such good care of James, and he never shows you enough gratitude!” Spock slurred, hanging on Bones’ arm in a very uncharacteristic manner.
“Right, I can see what you mean,” Jim said, putting one hand on Spock’s shoulder and pulling him away from their friend. “Come on, Spock, let’s go home where we can cuddle in peace and avoid freaking out most of Starfleet with how unvulcan you’re behaving.”
“James! You’re here! I was looking for you, but I couldn’t find you!” Spock threw himself at Jim to hug him before half turning to point at Bones. “You need to thank Doctor McCoy for being such a good friend!”
“I will, don’t worry,” Jim reassured as he secured his arm around Spock’s shoulders to start leading him to their room and waved goodbye to Bones who gestured silently at him to go. “But now, what do you think about going back to our quarters? We are meeting your mom tomorrow, and we don’t want to be late or show up tired. Her disappointed look is too powerful to risk being subjected to it.”
“I thought we were meant to see her the day after the ceremony.” Spock’s frown was the cutest thing, in Jim’s opinion. His lover was usually very mindful about when and how he partook in chocolate, so seeing him like this, all cuddly and drunk, wasn’t the norm, and Jim really enjoyed seeing this rare side of him.
“We are. But the ceremony ended a few hours ago, so we are meeting her for lunch tomorrow.”
“Oh…” Spock paused for a few seconds as if lost in thoughts, “T'hy'la?”
“Yes, love?”
“I think I’m drunk.”
“You are, you definitely are.” Jim chuckled. “Some idiot spiked the fruit punch, and you can trust that I’ll figure out who it was and make sure they regret it if Bones didn’t get to them first. But, for now, what do you think about going to bed with me to cuddle?”
“I would like that. I like cuddling with you, T’hy’la. Why do we have to wait though? Can’t we do it now?”
“I’m pretty sure the brass would prefer we didn’t,” Jim answered before muttering softly to himself, “And thankfully, we were housed in the main building while we’re planet-bound, so I should be able to get us there without drawing too much attention.”
“Mmm?” Spock slightly perked up from where he was nuzzling Jim’s neck.
“Nothing, love. I’m just happy to be with you,” Jim reassured Spock while making sure his lover was keeping his hands to himself. As much as he loved kissing him, both in the human and the Vulcan way, he knew how private Spock was and how embarrassed he would feel if someone witnessed him acting so touchy-feely, so it would have to wait until they were safely ensconced in their rooms.
