Chapter Text
“We should go camping.”
Snow’s voice rang loudly in the tiny aircraft. She was sitting by the cockpit, watching the view outside. It had just been a few hours since they left the peace talks, though, and none of them had packed anything more than their normal accessories. Blue did have the most stuff on her, but all that stuff was basically for day-to-day use. Not for wilderness survival.
On the first night of ‘camping’, they were near some hot spring or geyser. There was steam everywhere, to the point that Blue couldn’t see anything. At all. She was pretty sure the twins couldn’t see either, but they seemed to be okay with it. Somehow.
Blue woke up to Red nudging her body with a foot.
“Wake up,” Red snapped.
Blue just groaned and sat up. Red helped her up from the (oddly comfortable) ground, and they went to find Snow leaning against the Sparrow eating breakfast. Well, not technically breakfast, but she did bring snacks. As the two sat down, Snow tossed them a granola bar each (where did those come from?), and the three of them just collectively decided to leave.
“Where are we?”
“I think we’re above Nautilene.”
“There’s a strip of grass there. You could land, right?”
“Sure I could.”
“My legs are cramping up. Please land.”
Red and Snow were having a smalltalk conversation near the front of the aircraft. Crow and Goldie were flying around overhead, clearly bored. Blue was sleeping.
The plane landed on the ground with a soft jolt, which managed to shake Blue up. She let out a series of mutterings that was… speedy. Snow helped her up, dragged her out of the Sparrow, and ran off into the middle of the city. Blue followed Snow across practically the entire city, until they got to the Bugle.
Blue knocked on the door hastily.
“Hey, Blue! You’re back!”, Hector said excitedly.
“Hec! You remember Red and Snow, right?”, Blue asked.
“... Yeah. I do.”
“Great! They just landed and went loose in the city.”
“So do you want me to help find them?”
“Yeah.”
Thankfully, Hector knew how to drive.
Red was giving Snow an… inaccurate tour of the city. And also running around, causing chaos as usual. Through an impressive amount of convincing, which both Hector and Blue were sure that one of the two would escalate into anything worse, they managed to get the twins into the car.
Dragging a relenting Snow back (with Red and Blue just walking along behind), Hector fumbled around with his keys to the door of the Bugle. Soon, the door opened with a soft click, and the four of them walked in.
“Okay, Snow, this is where I lived before you practically kidnapped me,” Blue spoke.
“Hm. Not too bad.”
“Red, you remember this. Probably.”
“Sure.”
Not even an hour after they dropped their bags off, the three kids were back to exploring the city.
