Work Text:

“You and Boscha were WHAT?!?” Luz shouted. Amity stopped and started to regret what she said. It wasn’t like she meant to say it, it accidentally slipped out! She knew she should’ve never agreed to this stupid game.

…..

“Alright, the game is never have I ever. If you’ve done the thing someone says, you lose a point. The first to lose all five points loses. And the person who kept the most points wins!” Luz explained. The group nodded and sat down in a circle around the Owl House. Luz had suggested the game, saying “they needed to get back to doing normal kid stuff” as if they hadn’t just won a war two days ago. But the group all agreed they wanted and needed a break from rebuilding The Boiling Isle.

“Okay, I’ll go first. Never have I ever… accidentally eaten rotten food!” Luz spoke. Willow blushed slightly from embarrassment and put a finger down.

“Willow! When and what did you eat?” Gus asked curiously. Willow shuddered a bit grossed out thinking back to it.

“It was in the Human realm, I accidentally ate mouldy bread from Luz’s kitchen,” Willow admitted. There were a few grossed-out “ewws” from a couple of them.

“Alright, my turn next. Never have I ever broken a bone!” Willow took her turn. Gus, Hunter, and Amity both put a finger down.

“I’m shocked you never broke a bone Willow” Luz replied. Willow shrugged.

“Strong bones I guess.” She suggested.

“Okay okay, my turn. Uhhh, never have I ever dyed my hair.” Hunter said, smirking slightly at Amity as he did. Amity groaned and put a finger down, and surprisingly Gus did too.

“Okay, I see we’re just targeting here,” Amity mumbled. Hunter stuck his tongue out at Amity, who rolled her eyes in response.

“Okay then, we’ll never have I ever worked for a coven!” Amity shouted. Hunter reluctantly put a finger down and glared at Amity. Gus laughed sheepishly and tried to lighten the mood.

“Well, I guess it’s my turn. Never have I ever had an ex-partner,” Gus stuttered slightly. He looked around seeing Luz put a finger down. Amity groaned and hesitantly put her finger down, now having only two fingers left.

“Woah, Luz, and Amity? I’ve gotta hear about these!” Gus looked over at Luz who kind of just shrugged it off.

“Just a fifth-grade boyfriend, we lasted four days.” She confessed. She turned her attention to Amity.

“What about yours mittens?” Luz asked. Amity blushed at the name. She sighed and shook her head.

“Just someone. I’m not proud of it.” She groaned. Hunter stared at her, almost smirking as if he knew who it was. Luz just shrugged it off and went to take her turn.

“Well, never have I ever had coffee!” Luz admitted. Amity and Hunter put a finger down.

“Amity you only have one point left already! That’s actually not that shocking-“ Gus exclaimed. Amity shrugged and glared at Hunter, who just waved and smiled. Willow stared at the two before taking her turn.

“Well, never have I ever ridden a bike!” Willow said, trying to break the tension. Luz and Gus put a finger down, leaving them both with three fingers. Hunter stared at Amity, before smiling and taking his turn.

“Okay, my turn. Never have I ever dated my friend's bully.” Hunter smirked. Amity’s eyes widened. She jumped at Hunter, trying to smack him but was held back by Luz.

“You dickhead! How did you find out?!” Amity yelled. Hunter shrugged and crossed his arms. Amity glared at him and sat back down.

“Okay wait wait, Amity, you dated Skara?” Gus asked. Amity sighed and shook her head.

“It was Boscha. She and I were… a couple.” Amity admitted. Everyone stared in shock for a moment.

“You and Boscha were WHAT?!?”

……

And now Amity was sitting on the floor of Luz’s room, refusing to go out. She knew Hunter probably didn’t think what he was doing was horrible, but Amity still wanted to kill him either way. Luz had suggested that Amity go take a breather since she looked like she might cry. Amity wasn’t too torn up about everyone finding out, it was more tears of embarrassment than anything. And of course, Willow did have a conversation with Hunter about how he shouldn’t have done that. Amity was still embarrassed by the fact that she and Boscha dated. She didn’t really want them to find out.

“Hey love, may I come in?” Luz asked from outside the door. Amity looked up and nodded, even though Luz couldn’t see it. Luz gently opened the door and walked in, sitting down next to Amity.

“Willow had a conversation with Hunter about how he shouldn’t have done that, I think he feels bad about it,” Luz informed. Amity just nodded. Luz sighed and gently hugged Amity.

“Do you want to talk about it?” She asked. Amity shrugged and sat up straight.

“It was just a dumb relationship. She asked me out in seventh grade and we dated until the first week of ninth grade. It’s embarrassing to think I dated her.” Amity admitted. Luz listened intently, gently rubbing her girlfriend's back for comfort.

“Were you happy with Boscha?” Luz asked. Amity shrugged again.

“I don’t know. Maybe? At the time probably. Thinking about it now though, there was so much wrong with our relationship.” She signed. It felt oddly nice to tell Luz all of this.

“Well, I guess in a way, your guy’s relationship indirectly led to ours!” Luz tried to comfort her. Amity giggled and shook her head.

“I doubt it, but either way I’m glad it led to me meeting you,” she admitted. Luz smiled and gently kissed Amity on the cheek. Amity smiled and kissed Luz on the head.

“Alright, let’s go downstairs. I’m done with my cry session.” Amity sighed. Luz nodded and stood up. She reached down to help Amity up. The two of them walked downstairs hand in hand, to be greeted by Hunter standing there, slightly red.

“Blight, I’m here to formally apologize for calling you out like that. It.. wasn’t right of me.” Hunter apologized. Amity smiled and held out her hand.

“It’s all good.” She replied. Hunter smiled and took her hand, shaking it.

“You still lost the game though,” he added. Amity glared at him and summoned an abomination and pointed at Hunter, causing it to chase him around.
