A star driven to Despair (and the fall of his hope)

Summary:

Junko wants to see the world in despair for the sake of her own fun. But a certain blond haired performer has been making her dream difficult to achieve.
So what does she do?
She repeats what she did with class 77-B. But this time, with the great Tenma Tsukasa and his friends and family.

Notes:

Hi! I just wanna see Tsukasa in pain, so. Here you go.
Also, Tenma siblings (Kanade, Saki, Touya and Tsukasa) are filling me with angst rn

Work Text:

"Astonishing work today, everyone!" Tsukasa exclaimed, applauding his fellow troupe members for, yet again, another successful show. Emu giggled in response, happy that her dream was becoming true. She was going to bring- no. They were gonna drown the world in hope and smiles. Just like he dreamed of. The path to his career as a world known star was going just as he wanted.

"Your perfomance was incredible as always, Tsukasa-kun." Rui smiled as he turned off Robo-Nene, grabbing the power cord to charge her. Tsukasa chuckled in return.

"A great star like me never lets down anyone!" Tsukasa boasted, doing a dramatic pose. Nene sweatdropped hearing this.

"You say that, but the first time we performed, it was bad." she stated, not looking up from her game. Tsukasa flinched, not expecting that.

"N-Nene! You know that-" the blond sighed, rubbing his temples "That served as a learning experience. I'm sorry that I let out my anger on you, and you know it. I was angry at myself for letting down our audience."

"I know. But it's just a reminder that you, along with everyone here, are human." Nene spoke, pausing her game and looking at Tsukasa with a blank expression "You will fail sometimes. You will make mistakes sometimes. And that's okay. Because you're able to learn from them and become the better version of you." she mused, getting up. The others stared at her in silence, amazed by her words. It made Nene nervous.

"W-What??" she asked.

"Nene-chan... That was so inspirational and cool!" Emu gasped, sparkles around her. Nene let out a small noise of confusion, taken aback by Emu's words.

"R-Really? I... mostly tend to not speak my mind a lot, so..."

"You should do it more often, Nene." Tsukasa smiled, gently holding her hands "Speeches like that... They can inspire people, and bring them hope and smiles. You really have a way with words." he praised, his tone was soft and gentle, unlike his usual tone.

"Tsu...kasa..." Nene whispered, shocked. She wasn't expecting for her troupe leader to be so... gentle and calming. I mean, this was Tsukasa they were talking about! A loud, boisterous person with the dream of becoming the number 1 star in the world. Himand Nene are complete opposites that somehow ended up in the same troupe thanks to their mutual friend Rui.

"Someone like you can achieve anything you want as long as you work hard." Tsukasa said. Nene stared at him for a second before her lips quirked upwards, a smile coming to her face.

"Thank you, Tsukasa... You're not as bad as I thought you would be." she said, hugging him. Tsukasa let out a noise of surprise, but returned the hug, Rui and Emu soon joining in.

"We're a team! We reached our song together, so... We will do our best!" Tsukasa exclaimed.

From the distance, a figure watched the troupe closely, hidden in the shadows. "Junko. I found him." they whispered into their phone, their eyes narrowing, staring daggers at the blond.

"Good job Mukuro! Guess you're not a completely useless sister, after all!" a high-pitched, female voice exclaimed in delight from the otner line

"Right, I appreciate that. But what do I do now?" Mukuro asked, eyeing the group "He's surrounded by his peers, making it difficult for me to take him right now."

"Well, obviously you gotta wait until he's alone so you can take him! Especially when he's out of that lousy, ugly theme park! Who even names their theme park Phoenix Wonderland, it sounds cringy and stupid." Junko complained into the phone. Mukuro sighed, hanging up before she could hear her sister complain even more. Honestly, she was getting kind of tired of her complains. But at this point, they were far too deep into their plan to stop.

"Tenma Tsukasa... Your time as a beacon of hope will end today." Mukuro whispered as she turned on her heel, hiding herself deeper amongst the shadows.

Nene and Rui should have trusted the gut feeling that was telling them that they were in inminent danger, not ignoring it. Maybe they could have avoided this whole situation.

"Get home safely and go to bed, you all!" Tsukasa waved at the others goodbye as they all went their merry ways.

"You too, Tsukasa-kun!" Emu waved back as the three disappeared as they turned the corner. Turning on his heel, Tsukasa made his way backto his home, unable to keep his excitement to himself. I mean, he was at the peak of his career! He was bringing back the old Wonder Stage to its former glory! He was slowly becoming the star he has always dreamed to be! But most importantly. The most important thing that is making him so happy.

He was making the world smile. He was making his family smile. He was making his siblings smile.

Kanade, Saki and Touya... they were all at the peak of their careers too.

Saki reunited with her friends back in middle school, being able to bring them back together like when they were kids, and making the band alive again, playing with them and bringing hope with their music once again.

Touya fought for what he wanted to be, becoming the street performer he always dreamed to be and standing up to his father, who finally understood what his son wanted to be and finally letting him be himself.

Kanade was very close to saving Mafuyu, as well as she had saved dozens of people with her music. Not only that, she stood up to Mafuyu's mom for faking everything.

They have all come so far in their lives, and Tsukasa couldn't be more proud of them. They were working just as hard as he was, maybe even harder. And, as their brother, he was gonna support them all the way through.

"I have to make sure Kanade eats dinner, and that Touya and Saki are not up late practicing..." he mumbled as he passed the alleyway, because he knows that his siblings sometimes—well, a lot of times, actually—overwork themselves. And he can't let them do that. Because their health was very important.

"Tenma Tsukasa?" he heard his name being called, surprising him for a sec. He whipped his head around in surprise.

A girl about his age, with short, black hair and light purple eyes was behind him, staring at him with very dead eyes. Tsukasa shivered at her look, it was like if she was staring at his soul. He gulped, sweat rolling down his face.

"Y-Yes? C-Can I help you?" he asked, scared. The girl said nothing, staring right at him. Maybe he shouldn't have confirmed her half question half statement. She took a step forward, and in response, he took one backwards. He didn't know why, but this girl... There was something about her that meant trouble. And he didn't really like the aura she was giving. It was one that made him afraid.

Without giving him time to react, she grabbed his head and smashed it against the wall. He let out a gasp of pain as he saw black dots, his vision blurrying and his body going limp. The last thing he saw was a blurr of black and a blurr of pink walking up at him before his eyes finally closed, giving up.

'Kanade, Saki... Touya... I think... I got in trouble here...' was what he last thought, feeling something warm and metallic drip from his head.

"Saki, Kanade. We got a letter." Touya called as he grabbed the letter that got slid under the door. When he checked to see who it was from, there was no one outside the door, and the letter didn't have a name. Kanade and Saki perked up, heading from the kitchen to the entrance.

"A letter? Is it from a friend?" Saki asked.

"I have no clue... But it's adressed to us three." Touya answered, opening the envelope it came in with care.

"A... location?" Kanade asked, surprised to see an adress in the paper. It also weirded her out. I mean, who the hell sends a letter with an adress to a random house? It... gave her a feeling of insecurity, it made a pit in her stomach, like when she used to go for two days without eating, and she didn't like it.

"Is today a special date?" Touya asked, looking to the calendar. But there wasn't any date marked in red that month, Tsukasa would have marked it. He's very good at remembering dates.

"It doesn't hurt to check out, does it?" Saki suggested "Let's go! I bet it's a nice surprise!" before Touya and Kanade could stop her, she was already putting on her shoes. The two sighed at her energetic self, very much used to it. They just shook their heads as they got put on their shoes as well, the grey eyed boy grabbing the adress written on the letter.

They completely forgot to tell Tsukasa they were going out, but maybe it was for the best.

"Ena? Mizuki? Mafuyu?" Kanade called, surprised to see her fellow group mates there. But not just Kanade's. Saki and Touya's respective groups, along with Shiho's sister and her group and Tsukasa's troupe, were there as well, waiting patiently outside a building. Everyone turned to the newcomers, the final three to arrive.

"Yo, Kanade!" Mizuki greeted, waving their hand at the composer. She waved back.

"Saki! You got the letter too?" Honami asked, surprised.

"Yeah! I'm surprised you guys got one too!" Saki nodded, happy that the others were here too.

"We all did. For some reason." Shiho pointed out "We just arrived here a few minutes ago, so we haven't actually been waiting for too long."

"Yeah, but I'm still confused about this whole situation." Minori spoke up, rubbing her arm.

"I agree." Rui hummed, frowning "Anonymus letters to each and every single one of us, telling us to gather here without any context, and leeping us waiting here. It's confusing, strange and concerning. Most importantly, suspicious."

"Not only that." Nene added "But we are missing a member, at least us three." she pointed to Rui, Emu and herself "Tsukasa isn't here, and knowing that dumbass, he could have gotten himself into trouble or something." she deadpanned.

"Tsukasa is... not here..?" Kanade asked, her sense of danger shooting up to a hundred. So did Touya's and Saki's. If the blond was not here, with his friends... Then where the hell was he? He wasn't someone to not tell his siblings where he was going! He always told them where he was gonna be at, no matter what! Not knowing where he was made the three grow worried and protective. The others could sense how tense they were.

"What if nothing happened to him though?" Shizuku suggested, still holding onto the hope that Tsukasa would be fine "Tsukasa-kun is smart enough to know not to get himself into trouble. I believe that he's fine." she smiled.

Just as those words were said. The doors opened.

Everyone froze at this, surprised. "What the hell?!" Ena questioned, a shiver running down her spine as she stared at the doors. Inside was pitch black, she couldn't see anything inside. And that was another red flag for her.

"Finally we're gonna get some damn answers!" Airi exclaimed as she walked towards the door.

"Ah- Airi-chan, wait!" Minori cried out as she trailed after the pink haired idol. Soon enough, everyone followed after the two, the doors behind them closing shut.

The doors to their despair had just opened as soon as Airi stepped inside the building.

LOCATION: Wonderland Sekai

"Hmmmm..." KAITO hummed, frowning. He had a bad feeling all of a sudden.

"KAITO-kun? What's wrong?" MEIKO asked, worried.

"Ah, MEIKO... I just got a bad feeling all of a sudden..." he said, a hand on his head. MEIKO frowned.

"You're not the only one. Everyone is on edge after the troupe finished practicing for their next show." she told KAITO.

"KAITO!! MEIKO!! THIS IS BAD!! TOTALLY BAD!!" Len screamed as he ran to the two. They turned their heads to him.

"Len-kun? What's wrong?" KAITO asked, suddenly feeling a pit in his stomach. He couldn't predict how much panic and worry the blond's next words would cause him.

"T-Tsukasa-kun..! We can't get in contact with Tsukasa-kun!"

"Nngh... Huh?" Tsukasa groaned, finally opening his eyes. His head was dizzy, memory fuzzy, and vision blurry. Not only that, the place was incredibly dark. But if there was something he was sure of, is that this place was one he had never been in before. He placed his hands on the metallic floor he was laying on, using them to get up.

"An... elevator..?" he mumbled, bringing a hand to his head. He felt some sort of cloth wrapped around it. He quickly ripped it off, his eyes widened when he saw a bunch of bandages.

"What the..."

"Finally awake, sleepyhead? Sorry my sister decided to knock you out so hard! You were even bleeding!" a voice spoke, scaring the blond. The lights in the room suddenly turned on, blinding the blond for a second. He shut his eyes in surprise. When he got used to the lighting in the room, he could finally see where he was.

Some sort of dark, abandoned dungeon you typically see in videogames. There was a screen in the middle of the wall, which had been turned on. And there was a person projected on it. A pinkish blonde haired girl with bright blue eyes, she had the face of your typical model that appears in the weekly magazines.

"W-Who are you?! And where am I?!" Tsukasa asked, scared.

"Wouldn't you like to know, pretty boy!" she giggled, staring intensely at Tsukasa. There was something in her eyes that made him not trust her. He had... He had a very bad feeling about her.

"You must be wondering why I decided to kidnap you." the girl spoke "Well that's easy. You see, I want to make the world fall into despair. And I was getting there. I killed off a beacon of hope and then turned her class into my own puppets. But then, you and your little troupe happened to form." Tsukasa's eyes widened when she said those words "You all started your little show business to bring smiles, and it worked. And because of that, my puppets have rebelled against me, meaning I had to post-pone my plan. Sure, it did bring me some despair, but not to the world! And that's lame!"

"It's not our fault you decided to go along your fantasies of spreading evil!" Tsukasa argued "Wonderlands X Showtime only achieves to the very best! We dream of drowning the world with our hope and making it smile so brightly it could blind people! And there's no way we're going to stop!" he spat out, glaring daggers at the girl. She stared at him for a second.

"Is that so?" she asked in a mischievous tone. Then, she turned around, revealing a screen behind her that was projecting a room he had never seen before. It kind of resembled a trial room, now that he thought about it. Tsukasa raised a brow, confused. What did she want to show him?

His eyes widened when he saw everyone he knew come inside. Sweat rolled down his face as he recognized his troupe, Saki, Kanade and Touya there as well. What the hell were they doing there?!

"See them? They're going to watch you fall to despair, your hope crumbling to the ground." the girl grinned.

"!! Tsukasa!" Shizuku called when she turned to the screen, recognizing the blond immediately. Everyone turned ther heads to the same direction.

"Big brother!" Saki exclaimed, worried.

"Kanade! Saki, Touya! Everyone!" Tsukasa called before he glared at the girl again "You... Just what is your goal here?!" he questioned. The girl snickered.

"The world needs a little bit more of despair, and you will be the main course!" she announced, Tsukasa's eyes widening "Everyone, watch! As the Ultimate Beacon of Hope, Tenma Tsukasa, reaches his end by the hands of the Despair Sisters!"

Tenma Tsukasa has been found guilty

Time for the punishment!

"Hey...What does that mean..? What is Tenma-kun getting punished for..?" Minori asked, scared.

"I-I don't know..! I don't know at all!" Kohane answered, trembling "But...But I don't like it at all! It's giving me incredibly bad vibes!" she exclaimed.

"...'Reaches his end'..." Rui repeated, frowning. Just then, his phone lit up, confusing the others.

"Rui-kun! Rui-kun! What's wrong with Tsukasa-kun?! Why can't we contact him?!" Rin asked, worried. Everyone turned their heads to Rui, surprised. The holograms of the WxS virtual singers were appearing on his phone.

"Rin! There's other people- Ugh, it doesn't matter." Nene groaned, interrupting herself "Something is definitely going to happen to Tsukasa. He got kidnapped by some blonde bimbo and now the screen we just saw him says that he was found guilty, and he is going to get punished." Nene quickly explained. Rin's eyes widened.

"Punishment?! What does that even mean?!" Len asked, confused.

"We don't know... But there's nothing good about this." Rui stated, the Virtual Singers turned their heads to the screen with worry.

"Hey... Tsukasa-kun will be fine, right?" Emu asked, sweat rolling down her face "E-Everything will be fine, right..?" both Rui and Nene looked at each other with worried faces. They couldn't lie to the girl in this situation.

"I don't know." Akito answered, his eyes felt like they were glued to the screen "But there's one thing I do know. And it's that that blonde haired bimbo bitch is gonna pay for this." he mumbled, glaring at the blonde.

"A-Akito..." An stammered, shocked by Akito's sudden anger. It wasn't like him to be this angry about Tsukasa's safety. Perhaps he did care about him, despite how jealous of him he was, and how he was usually annoyed by him.

"!!! TSUKASA-KUN, WATCH-" Miku started, but everyone panicked as a saw cut Tsukasa on the arm, hurting him. Luka squealed in fear, almost fainting on the spot. He let out a small yelp of pain as he hid behind a corner to rest, looking at his arm. There was a lot of blood coming out of it. Gritting his teeth, he took off his jacket, ripping off his sleeve and wrapping it around the wound so it wouldn't bleed out too much.

"Aaaaah! I can't look!" MEIKO exclaimed, covering her eyes.

"M-Me neither! This is..!" Honami whimpered, covering her eyes as well.

"H-Honami, close your eyes and cover your ears." Shiho told her. The drummer did as she was told.

"Tsukasa..! Come on!" Saki whimpered "Big brother! You can do it!" she cheered, tears pouring down her face. She could onky watch hopelessly as her brother dodged the traps the best he could despite the pain in his arm.

"Now then! He's been staying on his toes in this deadly dungeon full of deadly traps!" Junko commented as footsteps echoed throughout the place, small bloodstains on the floor "That's our Tenma-kun, the world's next superstar! He's been dodging danger this whole time!" she cheered. Tsukasa panted as he ran through the place, holding his bleeding arm in pain. Sweat rolled down his face, eyes wide in panic. He was determined to get out of that place alive, but the fear and panic was slowly clouding his mind.

"But! Things are just about to get serious!" Junko spoke up, smirking "Now, Tenma-kun! Do your best to head to the exit!" she beamed. While speaking, Tsukasa accidentally stepped on a trap, losing his balance. He stumbled around a bit before spikes rose up from the floor, piercing his foot. He let out a scream of pain as he fell backwards, hitting his back on the floor.

"Then you can be with the others again!" Junko grinned as she watched Tsukasa bite his tongue as he slowly pulled his foot out of the spikes "I heard about you a while back..." she mused.

Tsukasa took in deep breaths, sweat rolling down his face as tears started forming in the corners of his eyes. Even so, he forced his own body to get up, despite the pain.

"Tsukasa..!" Touya whispered, worried. Akito looked at his dance partner with concern.

"W-What the hell?! This-This is torture!" Ena exclaimed.

"Tenma-kun..! Please, get out of there!" Haruka whispered, hands over her chest. Her heart was beating way too fast, she could feel herself panicking.

"You were a kid with an ambicious dream, the dream to become a world known star. But..." Junko paused, adding a bit of dramatic effect to the situation "That was exactly what made you yell at your own troupe. A show that was so pathetic because of a simple mistake was something incredibly big to you. Don't you feel even a little bad for poor Kusanagi-chan?" the blonde taunted, watching Tsukasa grit his teeth. The satisfaction in bringing out his anger was evident in her face.

"Is... that true?" An asked.

"Yes... It's true that our first ever show was a disaster." Nene whispered "Because of me forgetting to charge Robo-Nene..."

"Hey, it was an honest mistake, Kusanagi-san." Ichika said

"Besides! You all learned from it, right? We all make mistakes, and we learn from them. Which means it was a good experience, right? " KAITO asked, reamining hopeful. Junko eyed the group with a pissed off expression. Maybe she should have knocked them out and took their phones.

"I'm going to... see them again..!" Tsukasa forced himself to say as he used the wall as support to walk. A noise startled him. Looking back, his eyes widened when he saw a boulder slowly rolling towards him.

"That's why I had my eye on you!" Junko beamed. Tsukasa started limping faster, the pain evident in his face. He was holding back the tears as he tried his best to get away from the boulder. Suddenly, a bunch of steel balls shot towards him. The first one hit him right in his injured arm. He coughed out in pain, the second one hit him straight in the face, right near the eye. Blood poured down as he covered it with his hand, continuing to limp.

"Gh! Right in the eye!" Mizuki exclaimed, their face pale as they bit their finger in nervousness.

"Is he gonna be able to see like that?! That looks like he migbtnot be able to!" Len asked, worried.

"No, he can still see." Mafuyu stated, worried "But with the blood there, it might be difficult." she added.

"I'm going..." Tsukasa whimpered, a saw heading towards him "To see them again..." he uttered, lowering his head and dodging the saw. Another one appeared, heading to his neck. He gasped as he barely dodged it. More saws appeared on the floor, Tsukasa stumbling on his feet, luckily dodging them all. He toom a small second to rest before he looked around, looking for a way to dodge the boulder. He turned his head around, the boulder was close. He quickly avoided it by taking a turn. He rested his back against the wall, taking a deep breath.

"He did! He dodged the boulder!" Emu cheered, hopeful that Tsukasa was going to make it out alive.

"Even with that wound... He's actually doing..!" Ena whispered, shocked.

"That's how stubborn he can be." Kanade said, crossing her arms as she stared at the screen with a worried face.

"I won't give up... I won't let you beat me!" Tsukasa exclaimed, looking at one of the screens with Junko's face with determination "A star like me won't go down without a fight! My troupe and my friends... Together, we'll stop you!!" he declared, holding his arm in pain. Junko stared at him with interest, listening to his speech.

"Exactly! That's the hope I want to crush! The hope you all believe in!" she exclaimed, a sickening smile on her face "I mean, what better birth of despair is there than the death of hope?" she asked, staring at Tsukasa with an insane look.

"Come on! You need to focus on getting away!" Junko hurried him. He glared at her, but did as she said, continuing to limp as he held his arm in pain. The blood dripping down his face did make it a bit difficult to see, but he could bear it. He could bear it all.

"If you die, this footage will turn your loved ones and your friends to despair! If you don't like that, move those legs!" Junko insisted. Tsukasa gritted his teeth. He hated knowing this while he was out here fighting for his life. He hated that his friends and siblings might turn to the side of despair if he dies. He couldn't bear it.

"Haha... What a joke..." he whispered as he continued to limp "They would never... lose their hope. I have faith in them. I have faith that they won't succumb to someone as scummy and shitty as you." he chuckled, glaring at Junko.

"Tsukasa..." Saki whispered, shocked. Did her brother really think like that? Did he really have so much faith in them? It was... shocking. But relieving too. Because there was no way she would disappoint her brother!

"Yeah! Tsukasa-kun, you tell her!" Emu cheered, punching the air. Rui and Nene smiled. Wonderland X Showtime would never fall to despair.

Suddenly, a blade flew towards Tsukasa. He gasped, the blade catching his jacket and pinning him to the wall harshly. He grunted in pain, not expecting that. But he was going to bear it. He started pulling the jacket.

"I-I won't... give up!" he stammered out as he ripped off his jacket, leaving it stuck to the wall. He fell to his knees, taking deep breaths. He was in so much pain, he felt like his body was screaming in pain. But he was holding them back. He wouldn't give Junko the satisfaction of hearing him scream in pain.

"This is torture... Why are we being forced to watch it?" Ichika asked, crouching down. Shiho looked at her with worry.

"I don't know... This is painful to watch..." Miku whimpered, already crying. KAITO hugged her, telling her to not look.

"MEIKO and I will handle this, you all." he assured the others, MEIKO nodding in agreement.

Tsukasa got up, starting to limp again as he wiped his tears. It still hurt a lot to walk, but he had to get out of there. "Time for a special break for our hard-working Tsukasa-kun!" Junko announced as the blond passed a screen. He stopped in his tracks, turning his head to the screen in surprise.

"Maybe friendships can make a miracle happen!" she beamed, looking at Tsukasa as she rested her head on her hands "I'll wait ten seconds!" Tsukasa stared at the screen in surprise.

"A break?" Minori asked, her heart beating way too fast.

"That's-"

"That's a bluff." Akito and Mafuyu said at the same time. Everyone turned to them.

"I seriously doubt that this woman is going to give Tsukasa a break." Akito deadpanned.

"She's definitely lying." Mafuyu agreed.

"A-Asahina-san..." Shizuku whispered.

"10."

Tsukasa's eyes widened as he started limping faster.

"9."

His leg hurt a lot, he could barely walk without feeling pain shoot up. But he needed to hurry up.

"8."

He was already at the verge of tears as well, he thought it was kind of stupid. Him, crying over this.

"7"

He couldn't see very well since the hall was dark, but-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"

"TSUKASA-KUN!!" Emu screamed with worry as she started crying.

"Cheating..! That's cheating!" Mizuki exclaimed.

"I was right..." Mafuyu mumbled, frowning.

"What happened?! I can't see!" MEIKO asked, worried.

"I can't see either!" Airi gulped, scared.

"Ah. I forgot..." Junko started, gaining everyone's attention "I have the most despairingly short attention span!" she said in cute girl voice, which made the others feel even more sick.

"What an asshole..!" Kanade growled, getting angry. She had never felt this angry before. Sure, with Mafuyu's mom, she did feel angry at how she treated her child. But this? This was new to everyone, even her.

"And besides... You should know that there's no miracles.." Junko added, speaking in a dark tone as the screen slowly showed what had happened to Tsukasa. The ithers gasped.

"Kgh! A-A spear... right in his non injured leg..!" Touya choked out, face pale as sweat rolled down his face.

"Saki!!" Ichika exclaimed as she caught the blonde haired girl, who had fainted right then and there. Same with Honami and Minori, both who Shiho had caught before they fell to the floor.

"Waaah! Everyone!" Emu cried out, scared. Nene hugged the girl, the greenette herself glaring at the screen.

"Your friends and troupe are not coming to save you." Junko spoke, a smirk forming on her face as she saw Tsukasa's pain and misery. Rui glared at the screen.

"Cruel..! This is too cruel!" Kohane sobbed as she covered her ears and shut her eyes.

"That's right! No miracles for you!" Junko exclaimed, pointing at Tsukasa, who's body trembled in pain. Despite that, he continued to stand, and not fall. He only glared at the screen.

"Tenma Tsukasa-kun." Junko grinned "A promising star who has become a beacon of hope to his peers... YOUR DEATH WILL TURN THEM ALL TO DESPAIR!!" she shouted. Tsukasa continued limping around the maze, eyes shut in pain.

"...Hey, are you done?" he asked.

"Huh?" Junko blinked in confused, surprised by the question.

"Because... I'm getting tired... of your despair and hope... bullshit..." he chuckled, glaring at the screen in front of him "Who gives... a crap about it..? Only you..." he deadpanned.

"Wha- Aren't you supposed to say 'We won't give up to you!' or something?" the pink haired girl asked.

"That's something... I would say when acting... But this isn't a play... So there's no... no reason for me to say it..." Tsukasa answered as he limped forwards "I don't care...about hope or despair... Or smiles... What I care about... Are my friends and family."

"T-Tsukasa..." Kanade mumbled, surprised.

"That idiot..." Akito mumbled.

"Even in a life or death situation, he... puts others before himself..." An whispered, moved by the blond's words.

"What the hell..." Junko mumbled.

"So... Even if I die... I'll be content with it as long as my friends are okay." Tsukasa smiled, smudging his blood all over a screen, a screen which showed Junko's shocked face. The blond continued limping until he was able to spot a door with the word 'G O A L' on it. He grinned, running (read this as limping fast) towards it. Turning the knob, he opened it.

A bright light shone on his face, blinding him. However, he could distinguish the troupe's figures. "You guys..."

"What... That's... Those are not us..!" Nene exclaimed, her face paling. At first, she was happy that Tsukasa had reached the goal. But now... Now she was certain this was going to go wrong.

"Tsukasa-kun! You did it!" the fake Emu cheered.

"I'm glad you are okay." the fake Nene smiled.

"Tsukasa-kun. Welcome back." the fake Rui said as he reached his hand out. Tsukasa slowly limped towards him, tears running down his face.

"TSUKASA DON'T!!" both Kanade and Touya screamed.

*STAB!*

An iron spear pierced the blond's chest, making him fall backwards. His eyes widened in shock as more spears appeared from the floor and pierced his whole body.
