Shy little thing, aren't you?

Chapter 1: A walk through the woods

Chapter Text

It was... quiet.
oddly quiet.

A flash of grey darted through the underbrush, footsteps barely heard, soft silicone on even softer earth.

That group of freaks couldn't even grasp victory even when handed to them on a silver platter, it seemed. Laying there, right on the control panel, was their prey, and yet again, they failed to neutralize the threat, instead opting for a wild goose chase to "capture" him, through his own natural hunting ground nonetheless.

They really didn't make them bright on cybertron, did they?

With a practiced flick of his long, sleek tail he whipped his entire body around to aim for the tall oak beside him, landing with perfect precision and elegance, and far away from the brute lumbering at a measly pace behind him.

He bounded off, sprinting towards his current cave hideout. he'd have to move soon, before they tracked his scent there. he hated dinobots and their olfactory sensors so, so much. The opening before him was small, only the right size for a minicon, or a particularly oddly-shaped bot. being a mix of both was proving itself useful.

helm first, followed by servos and chestplate, shoulderpads clicking into his sockets before clicking back out. waist came next, simple. He pushed himself up, hip sockets squeezing through the tight gap, same as his shoulders.

he was a primus-damned assassin. he should've seen this coming. he knew he should've checked the entrance before slipping himself in. but the dumber the bot, the more unpredictable they could be. unpredictability leads to uncertain situations, and uncertain situations lead to reverse predation. the spurs above his pedes snagged on the small rim of the tunnel, collapsing the already small gap around him, and giving the big lug pursuing him just enough time to-

That stupid lopsided grin again.

"Gotcha!"

Nope. not today. His chassis folded around the dinobot's arm, giving him leverage to sink his entire jawset into the unsuspecting mech's arm. All this did however, was tighten the grip around his slim leg. Instincts kicked in at the pressure, his pede popping out of its socket and slipping his leg out the dino's grasp.

Before the larger mech could even process his escape, a sharp blow to the back of his soft intake cabling stopped that happening.

A soft vent. He'd finally been neutralized. His hunt had come to completion, and sooner than expected.

The small musteloid dragged the hulking frame through the now-crumbled hole in the wall, through, and into the cave, following the recent, yet fading scent markings that adorned the cave walls.
