The cool spring air is a refreshing change from the heat inside of the restaurant as Mitsuki and Nagi start walking home from a lunch out.
Nagi is rambling on and on about his love for Japanese food, and the new MagiKona episode coming out later, and his adoration for cherry blossom season and the beauty of them.
Mitsuki’s mostly focused on the beauty walking beside him.
The cherry blossom petals scattered across the sidewalk and falling from the trees are blown by the wind creating something picturesque with the tail end of golden hour.
Mitsuki looks up at Nagi. There's a soft smile on his face. Something tender, and real, and illuminated by the light of the sunset.
Jeez, he is pretty.
Nagi looks at him.
“Mitsuki, you have something in your hair,” he says, and they stop walking for Nagi to smile wider, reach over, and pull out a cherry blossom petal from his hair.
He shows it to Mitsuki in the palm of his hand, and laughs a little as they watch as it blows away with the wind.
“Oh yeah?” Mitsuki says, smiling himself, “Well, you’ve got something on your lips!”
“Oh?” Nagi says, bringing his fingertips to his lips, trying to feel for something.
Mitsuki pulls his hand away, and in one swift motion, cups his face and pulls him down into a kiss.
It ends as quick as it began. It’s a fleeting, electric thing. It’s small peck, and his lips are so soft… and then it’s over, and he pulls away, and Nagi looks back at him with wide, shining eyes.
“Oh!”
Before Mitsuki can process what’s going on, their teeth have clanked against each other and he’s cringing from the impact.
“Ow, Nagi!”
“Oh, sorry! I got excited!” Nagi says, still holding his face as Mitsuki bursts out laughing.
Nagi scoops him up in his arms then, peppering kisses on his cheek. “I love you, Mitsuki!”
Mitsuki continues to laugh, hitting Nagi’s shoulder. “I know, Nagi, put me down!”
Nagi spins him around in the air and then, as more and more petals land in their hair, they kiss once more.
