Everyone who witnessed Batman's birth and his first steps in cleaning up Gotham City had the same thought: "Batman started disguising himself." It was easy to notice, as the Dark Knight rarely showed his more humanoid form, preferring to blend in with the shadows of the city, and certainly didn't have any striking colors to his disguise.
The changes in their vigilante's appearance began with a subtle, almost imperceptible shift. As he encountered children rescued from dire situations, he would startle them with his inhuman clicks and trills, attempting to soothe them. However, Batman made an effort, and soon his speech became comprehensible to humans, although his voice still held a sense of fear for those who heard the young cryptid's voice. After that, there were several more near-death experiences for the criminals, and eventually, a yellow streak of light could be seen among the shadows, marking his appearance, although the Dark Knight himself could remain undetected even with this new addition to his appearance. The next change occurred when the Scarecrow stepped on the edge of a building, causing it to collapse beneath him. It was discovered that the incident was caused by the vigilante's overly sharp claws, and the defender's limbs began to transform uncontrollably until they could no longer penetrate the concrete with their sharp tips.
Gradually, these changes began to accumulate, and Batman became increasingly adept at the art of disguise, making it difficult to distinguish him from a human being when Batgirl appeared by his side. However, it was Batgirl who served as the catalyst for the Dark Knight of Gotham to fully embrace his inhuman nature, leading to his eventual downfall and bloodshed. Everyone knew that she was just an ordinary human child who wanted to help their protector, but it was this desire that weakened Batman even more, and the Joker didn't like it. The Joker was connected to Batman, and he didn't like the way his other half was gradually losing parts of himself for the sake of others, but he tolerated it. He tolerated it because Batman had never given up on his true identity, but it had happened. It had happened because of Barbara Gordon, and she had paid the price, and Gotham City knew about his revenge. The people of Gotham knew what Batman had to sacrifice for them, for Gotham, for the rest of the world, and for his children.
