Chapter Text
Chapter 1 – It all starts with a Gacha!
As I star in the endless dark abyss I finally come to term with the fact that I have died.
And let me tell you . . . it fucking sucks.
It sucks even more so considering that the assholes that have been the direct cause of my demise are not going to be punished in the slightest.
Because of course, how could they ever known that a fire warning system that has not been updated in 20 years would fail in the moment of need.
Sigh. At least is that I was able to find the fire before anyone else and evacuate as many of my colleagues as possible. And still one of the managers had the audacity to threaten me with being fired on the spot because I was disturbing their work.
Good riddance, all of them.
Still, after looking with what I can assume are the “eyes of my soul” for the better part of an hour this shit is getting boring.
‘I hope something is going to happen soon’
[USER FOUND]
‘?!’
[ANALYSING KARMA]
‘Wait, karma is a thing?!’
[DETERMINING COMPATIBILITY]
‘Has anyone told you about slow and steady wins the race’
[USER ANALYSIS COMPLETE]
‘Apparently no’.
[INITIALAZING CHAOS GACHA]
‘Wait, did you say gacha?’
[Yes, User has been determined to be compatible with the Chaos Gacha. User has the right to 3 Gold Random Gacha Tickets before being sent to another World to start User’s new life.]
Taking out the fact that I am somehow able to speak to an ethereal computer interface without having a mouth, I start to ask the important questions.
‘What is the Chaos Gacha?’
[The Chaos Gacha is a system which gives the user various regards of different quality and power from across the Multiverse. Said rewards are divided into 5 Categories: Abilities, Traits, Skills, Familiars and Items. The Chaos Gacha will rewards the User with Gacha Tickets of various quality based on the feats the User itself accomplish. The greater the feat the greater the quality of the ticket. Said qualities are, from lowest to highest: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Legendary, Mythical and Divine]
‘Okay, okay. A lot to take in all at one, but I understand the gist of it. And you said that since I am going to get Isekaied to another world I get 3 Gold tickets’.
[Correct]
‘Are all tickets going to be Random ones?’
[No. While the vast majority will be, doing actions related to one of the five categories in particular, or completing the Quests given to you by the System can give you tickets that only give rewards based on the specific category indicated on it.]
‘Okay, good . . . good’
I take an imaginary deep breath and I look at the floating blue screen on which it shows my three unused Tickets.
‘How am I going to consume the tickets?’
[You simply have to imagine it and the System will do the rest]
Okay, then without further ado. Let’s start this.
I look at the first ticket and I imagine to open it like the countless times I have seen done on the Internet videos while I was on break during work.
The ticket breaks in half and an horizontal wheel appears in front of me and it starts to turn.
After a while it stops on what will be my first reward.
Rolling Gacha Ticket . . .
An Elite Trait!
[Advanced Android]
Race Change - You are a more advanced model of an android. As an Advanced Model, you possess superhuman physical abilities and increased energy reserves. Your natural energy regeneration is lessened, but you can charge yourself like a machine. Your Tinker abilities are more efficient and progress faster, and your capacity to handle technology is greatly increased. But you are also rendered vulnerable to Electricity and Interfacing. As an Advanced Model, you possess augments such as a powerful computer integrated in your body and multiple combat implants such as Projectile Launcher System, Gorilla Arms and Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk. You can also tinker with yourself to change your body to an extent(You still have fleshy bits).
‘Not bad, not bad at all. But considering how vastly different various android/cyborgs are across numerous franchises it will be difficult to determine what implants I got.
[If the user is okay with it, the System can limit itself to the Cyberware shown in the Cyberpunk 2077 game as a way for the user to better acquaint themselves with them.]
I think about the proposal for a moment.
‘Wait, does that mean that I can get the Sandevistan?’
[Yes and No]
‘What do you mean?’
[The original Sandevistan shown in the Cyberpunk Edgerunners show is already a separated item in the Chaos Gacha. Instead you could install the Sandevistan models available in the game itself. While less powerful, they would not cause the user brain damage from overuse]
‘Okay, but since we are on the topic. Is there a risk I develop cyberpsychosis?’
[No, unless the overuse of an ability is specifically described every reward in the Chaos Gacha is meant to not cause harm to the User’s health. Of course, overextension and pushing ones limit too far without resting will carry the risk of damage to user’s health regardless].
Yeah, it make sense. Without wasting time I consume my second ticket.
Rolling Gacha Ticket . . .
An Uncommon Ability!
[Golden Fists]
Allows you to cover your fists in a deadly golden light that amplifies the power of your punches and punishes evil, it also deals severe damage against the unholy and spirit beings.
An interesting ability, even if of lower grade than my Trait. Considering the various builds that I can make with the various cyber implants, I could opt for a CQC build.
[An important information for the User in regard to Abilities.]
‘What do I need to know?’
[While User can accumulate how many Abilities the Gacha gives, the User can’t use all of them at the same time. Instead there are so called Ability Slots. User starts with one and gains a new one for every 5th ability he gains]
Now, this is interesting. It truly is a Gacha.
Regardless of having a weak or strong ability, I will still be limited by the number of slots at y disposal. Which also means that the power of the ability given by the ticket can make the difference between life and death.
But this also begs the question.
‘When I put an Ability in a slot, I am stuck with that ability forever?’
[No. The User can swap the ability currently present in the slot with any other available, but there will be a 5 minute cooldown before the previously swapped ability can be reused]
Good to know.
Then, it is time to roll the final ticket.
Rolling Gacha Ticket . . .
A Rare Trait!
[Blessing of Zeus]
You are a child blessed by Zeus; there is nothing you can't fuck. What did you expect? You gain increased charisma, fertility and talent in the carnal arts. Changer abilities are easier to use and cost less energy to use and maintain. ...Oh, and your lightning-based abilities are stronger too.
Well that was . . . unexpected, but at least I will not have to worry about getting laid in whatever world I end up here.
[One last thing User]
‘Yes?’
[The Patron that has offered to you the use of the Chaos Gacha has demanded that together with the starting tickets you also take one roll of the Curse Wheel before going to your new world].
‘Wait, my Patron?!’
[Yes, while I can’t reveal the identity of said Patron, it was its decision to give you the Chaos Gacha]
‘Why do I have to take a Curse before deciding in which world I going?’
[Because it will be used as the foundation for your background in your new life]
‘Wait, aren’t you going to drop me in the middle of a plaza or something like that?’
[No, instead you will be reborn in your new world, and will forget about this conversation until you achieve 18 years of age. In this length of time the curse will take effect as a way to better integrate you in the world]
‘But I am guaranteed to survive until I am 18, right?’
[Correct]
‘What would happen if I refuse?’
[Then you will lose access to the Gacha and will return to the flow of soul towards whatever afterlife awaits you]
‘If I accept. Will I have to constantly fear to have the Gacha taken away from me by my Patron?’
[No. Once the deal is accepted it will become part of you. Not even your Patron is strong enough to take away the Gacha from you]
I take a deep breath and after thinking about it a good minute I say.
‘I accept the deal’
[USER APPROVAL CONFIRMERD]
[INITIALIZING CURSE WHEEL]
Suddenly a big red and black wheel appears in front of me. On it there are white coloured numbers going from 1 to 20. Which I suppose indicated the severity of the Curse I am going to get.
With my will I roll the wheel and I silently start to pray to the Goddess of Luck to not have a horrible curse on me.
After a couple of seconds the Wheel stops . . . on a 4.
I let out an imaginary breath of relief as I look what curse I got.
Curse Wheel Result : 4
Minor Curse
[Orphan]
Your parents were killed in a car crash, or another type of violent accident. Doesn't matter who they were, they just were. At the least the parents who were supposed to raise you anyway. (Resolve: One and done deal.)
Reward : 1 X Gold Random Gacha Ticket
Another Gold ticket eh. Well, it sucks that my biological parents are dead, but at least I can promise them that I will survive and destroy whatever obstacle I will find in front of me.
Without wasting time I roll my fourth ticket.
Rolling Gacha Ticket . . .
A Rare Trait!
[Rule 63]
"Where Banana?" Reality across all of existence has been twisted, warped, retconned and remade to make some men women. Or women men.
. . .
I think the Gacha is up to something . . . I just can’t prove it.
[Is User ready to decided which world is going to reincarnate in?]
‘Yes. Yes I am’
[STARTING WORLD SELECTION . . .]
[SELECTION COMPLETE]
‘So, what shall be my fate?’
[Transferring User to the World of . . . Mato Seihei no Slave]
Well, not bad, but not completely good either. Still, with what I have I can survive.
[Good Luck User]
‘Thanks System’.
And with my final words says I finally lose consciousness and let the darkness take me, bringing me to whatever new life awaits me.
END
A.N:
Hello everyone Ghostfire here.
I have finally decides to take my shot at the Chaos Gacha by Bronze_Deck, and I am quite curious to where this story will go from here onward.
As an extra funny note, the Cyberware build that the MC is going to use is one that I have personally created with a new save on Cyberpunk 2077 at max difficulty; and while I didn’t have time to get all the pieces, the build was basically complete.
I will write the entire build in the next chapter.
For now, leave a comment if you like the chapter and I will see all of you next time.
