The stream had been going for forty three minutes now and Ryo had already cried once. 

Okay well, not actually cried but his eyes did get a bit glossy and had to cover his face slightly. It had been the bridge, it was always the bridge for him with NCT 127 because the bridge objectively always belonged to Doyoung.

And it’s funny because on first click onto the stream, anyone would think based on the song that Ryo was crying tears of sadness. But no. 

Nononono. Never.

Not if Doyoung was on the track.

Because naturally, the song was… bad. Genuinely pots and pans humanized and stitched together with lyrics written in the middle of an arts class. Maybe even a slam poetry event too if we are being generous. 

But still, the title was enough of an indicator this was about to be some bullshit. 

However, it truly wasn't–not to Ryo!

Because just when the song couldn't get better, Doyoung would come in and suddenly it didn’t matter how odd the build up was, how awkward the chorus was sang, or how little sense the whole song made. 

For when in doubt, there was Doyoung.

Doyoung was just one of those singers that could sing so perfectly you felt every emotion he was trying to portray.

So Ryo absolutely loved his song, he got it immediately upon first listen. Even if his own idol didn’t.

And even if the internet, broadly, disagreed with him.

“Okay so,” he said, eyebrows furrowing with confusion. “I see we may not all be in agreement here…”

Ryo set his phone aside and looked directly at the camera. “But you’re all wrong.”

“‘What is sticker about?’ Hmm. Let's check the lyrics.” He types into his phone, squinting slightly. 

He reads over the lyrics carefully mumbling out the words to himself to truly make sense of them in his head.

This is… so beautiful. Ryo needs to thank every lyricist on the track, its so good beyond whatever the chorus meant. Just look at the rest of the lyrics. How can you not get it.

He nodded slowly, with complete confidence. 

“Right so. I think ‘fallin' into my love, my sugar’ means: enjoy my music…. And ‘listen, this is definitely not just words’.... that definitely means: I want to see you enjoy my music.”

Ryo continues to watch the video once then twice more, coming up with new conclusions each time. 

“This is the third time I'm watching it and I didn't realize Taeyong was sitting on top of a car in one of the scenes”

At the time, he had maybe six or seven viewers on the live. 

Such a minuscule number, nobody clipped it.

Well Ryo thought nobody did…

Because genuinely who would, he's just some kid who got his screentime extended by his parents and decided to record a stupid video of him reacting to NCT’s new song.

But no.

Someone did clip it, specifically the part where tears brimmed in his eyes out of joy. And it blew up… Because he was crying about ‘Sticker’ of all songs.

So years pass, and Ryo is now … a pretty large presence in NCITY.

He’s become quite recognizable among NCT fans as well as kpop fans in general. It’s funny, considering it started with that Sticker stream with the worst quality ever. 

His parents didn’t even know he was streaming then, and he himself didn't even understand the full extent of what streaming was either too. To his parents, he was just in his room more often. They thought it was school, or games, or just growing up. 

But no, he was stuck in the hellhole of NCITY. 

So he streamed every now and then on Youtube then twitch and somehow people stayed. Especially after yet another video of him went viral. This time he had secured NCT 127 tickets and ran around his room in pure joy because he got to listen each song live. He got to see Doyoung.

So now cut to two years later, Ryo is asked to react to something new, a small reminder that his life isn't just NCT 127 anymore. 

Neither is NCT.

On stream, there's the usual popular things he reacts to-things currently going viral like: 

“react to boys planet please!”

“have you seen jimin's encore for ‘like crazy’?”

“have you watched svt's super yet????”

But today it's something more in his hemisphere.

His stream had been going for an hour and twenty seven minutes when Ryo got the question.

Ryo glanced at the hype chat. Then looked back at the video he was mid-reacting to. 

Ah.

And to be fair, he does know NCT Wish, he’d seen their survival show clips here and there. However, he wasn't a fan.

In his humble opinion, they should just keep NCT the way they are. Why did SM need to add a unit last minute? Wayv got enough hate as it is and NCT has more than enough members. There's no need for more.

So no, he's 127zen down, easily. And then he dabbles in NCT Dream and Wayv but Wish….. No.

They are too kiddish for him, he's more mature then their concept. It's not his thing at all. Sorry NCT Wish!

And at least other NCT units have NCT U, so he can see Goatyoung with other members. Then he can get to know them more through that. However, that album just came out (fire by the way in his opinion, Baggy Jeans was a hit) and NCT WISH was very much not on it. 

So he wasn't going to watch videos of them on his own time when there's no Doyoung in it; what's he supposed to watch for.

"NCT Wish?" He said it carefully like his indifference to them might stir up controversy.

"They debuted already?" He was already switching tabs on his new second monitor (thank you twitch payments). The last he’d seen from the group was that they were on a survival show but that was months ago.

In a hotel room forty three kilometers away in Osaka, Sakuya was staring at his phone amazed Ryo even read his comment.

All of the members were gathered around the phone giddy to see what Ryo would say. They’d all watched him here and there but Sakuya was the biggest fan of the five.

He was casted around the time Ryo really took off so it was hard not to know him when the boy was always going viral when reacting to his seniors. 

But now that Sakuya has been debuted for a few months, he wondered when it would be his turn to be reacted to. Especially now that Ryo is on break from university so he can steam more–not that Sakuya knows or has been keeping track.

But, as one does, him AND all the members all have been monitoring their status online, twitter, naver etc.

So he would've known if Ryo reacted to him.

And you know, seeing as he’s been a bit of a fan of Ryo for a while, this is such a major moment for him-and them all obviously. They are ALL excited to see what Ryo says.

As Ryo begins to watch the music video, their debut ‘Wish’, Sakuya tracks every moment of Ryo in every part of the video.

Ryo watches itthe video carefully, calculating in his head, really trying to see if they amount to Doyoung and all his glory. It's Ryo’s ‘brand’.

Every video, every group, every song, is judged on a Doyoung Scale™.

His eyes are flicking from one face to the next, trying to learn everyone, trying to keep up with the voices and the way each of them moves. 

Then it happens, Sakuya watches as Ryo pauses the music video. Sakuya holds his breath, it's a clip where the five of them are looking through a window. He remembers filming that fondly.

"...who is that on the right," Ryo says curiously.

Sakuya could genuinely throw his phone in happiness. He’s on the right, it's him and Yushi and Riku. But trust, it's him that Ryo likes. 

They have a telepathic bond. He knows it.

He quickly goes to type the answer while Riku slaps his arm.

Yushi huffs a laugh at Sakuya’s odd behavior.

But then, Ryo points at the screen. Uselessly, since no one could see what he was pointing at. So then he verbalizes it:

"Him. The–top right with blond hair."

"Yushi," Ryo repeated, confirming it 

"Okay I need to know everything about him," Ryo began saying. “His name is Japanese, is he?”

At that exact moment, one train ride away in Osaka, the room completely explodes.

Laughter erupts all at once. Its so loud and uncontrollable, Daeyoung actually drops to the floor. He's clutching his stomach and that just makes everything worse because this is not funny. Nothing about this is funny.

But no one else seems to feel the same way because there is genuinely no end to the laugher and jokes. One person sets off the next, and so forth until no one can even breathe properly. And in the middle of all of it is Sakuya trying to salvage himself.

Because no freaking way. YUSHI?!

Sakuya's ears burn as he types away trying to save himself from this embarrassment.

And that's how the rest of the stream went, Sakuya continuously being humiliated every time he tried to make himself known to Ryo. 

But that boy was not budging. It was Yushi or nothing.

So Yushi was his Doyoung of their group.

Great. Now what is he supposed to do.

What to do if my friend doesn’t like the idol i want them to.

hi, im 18M and a big fan of an SM group. Everyone i know is a big fan of this one member who deserves everyone’s love. he is great, can rap, can dance, is cute, very smart, very funny, handsome basically everything. i think everyone should bias him. Now my oomf (18M) is just getting into this group and his favorite is this another guy (M21). Yushi s great, he’s a great friend, very good on camera, very cool and very awesome. Yay! But this other guy is way better.

So hence i need help to get this classmate to like sakuya more than the other guy. How can my sisters friends brother like this other guy? Im so awesome. So How do i get this person to like the best idol ever more instead of his other favorite whos definitely less awesome.

Edit: i have no contact with him yet, please give me ideas i can send anonymously on twitch.

Find if he accepts gifts! If he has a mailbox or gmail, send him something heartfelt on why your favorite idol is better and how much it would mean if your friend/oomf/classmate/twitch streamer/sisters friend’s brother biased him instead

Ryo does get PR gifts all the time so that is such a perfect idea.

That's what he has to do!

Then he can make a good impression. Then Ryo will see it and once Ryo sees it properly he’ll understand. 

Sakuya better than Yushi. Obviously.

Then boom! Ryo will bias Sakuya and they can live happily ever as... best friends!

Sakuya kinda used to this ticketing stuff anyway… reserved seats for family and friends always end up in his hands as a gift from the company as if its not his own show he's performing at. He gets them for his sister, his parents, his sister’s friend’s brother, whoever needs them.

 And the timing is actually perfect right now, because their ‘Log In’ is starting in like two months. Ryo can come to it, Sakuya just needs his personal information to send to their manager so the seats can be put aside.

It's literally the perfect chance. 

So he waits for Ryo’s reply so he can just send the information to his manager and get everything sorted out, easy peasy. 

And he waits some more, and little more than that.

Unitl it’s two weeks before the concert and Ryo still hasn’t answered. 

Brah what the hell. 

If this were Sakuya and he got that email, he would've filled out all of his information ASAP. Like c'mon it literally says he won free tickets and backstage passes. What more can someone want.

Whatever.

So like any totally normal person, Sakuya decides this is now a really dire and serious situation. 

Hence why after practice, he makes a very detailed and convincing powerpoint to show his members. They can be his test subjects before he brings this up to their manager. 

No because honestly, in a situation like this what else are you even supposed to do? This is the only way.

Then Sakuya texts them to gather in the living room to present: 

It is a pretty short presentation and honestly, it goes really well. No one had any questions while he was presenting!

This such a win!

"So does anyone have any objections before I bring this up to manager-nim?"

...

Its quiet until Sion speaks.

“I have so many questions,” Sion says, leaning back on the couch like he’s already tired. 

“Why is Ryo edited into the NCT family photo?” Daeyoung adds on, squinting at the slide extremely confused.

Sakuya slaps his head exasperated.

Did they not listen to the presentation?

Sion doesn’t even hesitate. “So this is not going to work. At all.” 

Riku raises his hand a little awkwardly. “I’m sorry but hyung is right.” 

Sakuya ignores that and keeps going anyway trying to reaffirm his slides.

“How am I supposed to prove I’m the better person to bias if I can't, like, get him here and prove it?” 

Sion slowly blinks. “Why does this even matter so much? He’s just some streamer.” 

Sakuya turns serious immediately. “I treat the future of my fans very serious.” 

Yushi, from the side, finally speaks up. “He doesn’t even stan us or you. You literally lost him to Doyoung years ago.” 

Brah. 

Riku looks between them, then shrugs a little. “Well if it matters that much to you I’ll… ask manager-nim. But if he says no, it’s not our fault.” 

Sakuya brightens instantly. 

Yay!

Okay, so it doesn’t work.

And it’s getting really close to the concert date, so all the members are basically just running around excited all the time, talking about it nonstop. The concert-not Ryo sadly.

That is, until Sakuya suddenly gets what he thinks is the third greatest idea ever. 

This might actually be the best one yet. 

“Ryo is subscribed to your Bubble right?”

Yushi looks up from his phone. “How would I know?”

Sakuya already has a look on his face. “Let’s test it.” 

Yushi doesn’t even get time to argue before Sakuya is already telling him what to type. 

Cut to Ryo, casually live streaming Animal Crossing and going through messages and stuff. That is of course until Yushi’s Bubble notification pops up. 

Ryo tilts his head a little on stream. 

“Ah, Yushi is on Bubble,” he says out loud, half curious and half distracted. “Let’s see what he’s saying.”

“i’m going to eat ㅎㅎ”

“i haven’t decided yet”

“what should i eat ?ㅎㅎ”

He reads it out loud slowly.

“my tmi today is sakuya next to me.”

“IF YOU GET AN EMAIL SAYING YOU WON FREE TICKETS TO SEE NCT WISH BELIEVE THEM AND ANSWER RIGHT NOW!”

Ryo pauses mid scroll like he’s trying to make sense of what he just read. 

“…Um. That’s so odd.” He leans a little closer to the screen, squinting. “It seems like he got hacked? I’ve never seen an idol’s Bubble get hacked before.” 

Ping.

A new message pops up immediately. 

“I HAVE NOT BEEN HACKED. IDOL BBL CAN’T BE HACKED.” 

Ryo physically leans back in his chair, a little concerned. 

“Uh... this is really weird,” he says on stream, laughing a little nervously now. “He answered my question like… like he can hear me.”

Ping

“I CAN HEAR YOU” 

Ryo freezes. He slowly turns his head toward his monitor like it might just kill him. 

He looks at chat wide eyes and clearly freaked the fuck out before he looks at the Bubble message again. 

“…Maybe I should unsubscribe,” he says carefully. “This is getting kinda odd.”

“DON’T”

Ryo stares at the chat for a second longer than normal. 

“…Okay that’s weird,” he says slowly, leaning back in his chair. “That’s weird, right?” 

He lets out a small laugh, but it doesn’t really sound humorous. He sets his phone down on the desk, a little put off by the whole situation, like he can physically put distance between himself and whatever this is. And in doing so, he completely misses the next message on bubble and in the stream.

Ryo decides to end the stream before anything else can happen. 

But like, it’s probably nothing right? 

Coincidences like that always happen. But it has to be a scam, right? The email-there’s no way it’s real.

But the bubble messages, the timing, the tickets, the whole “answer right now” thing. 

It all felt a little too… aligned?

And yet. He thinks about the email again, the link. 

Part of him wants it to be real even though it makes no sense at all. 

Just one percent. A tiny, stupid chance that this isn’t someone messing with him. 

Unless…

He pulls up the email and hesitates for way too long over something that should be easy to ignore. But then he clicks it and the link opens to–

A google form?... very professional.

Ryo can't what the point of this scam would even be? Like what could they possibly gain from these answers.

So Ryo considers answering falsely, putting fake information just cause.

But he cant, because honesty is the best policy. And because of that one percent, that small off chance this is real.

That small possibility might be able to meet... Yushi!

He doesn't even know Sakuya that well. He only knows Yushi and Riku somewhat. What's something only Sakuya could give?

And somewhere a few kilometers away a yell is heard in the distance.

“A free ticket to meet Doyoung????” Sakuya yells in disbelief, opening the answers to the form.

How the hell is he supposed to do that…
