Summary
It happens on a Monday evening. It's a stupid mistake, nothing really, a little cut on the way home, a few drops of blood on the pavement. Wilbur just hisses softly and cradles his hand the rest of the way home, unaware. But it's enough. What he didn't see that night, what he didn't hear, is the noise of a crow softly landing in the same spot where the droplets landed, it's this very crow examining the blood left on the ground and taking off quickly, flying as fast as humanly possible, a black dot in the grey sky of this January's night. It's this crow, perching on his master's arm, bringing back news that put a smile on his owner's face. This smile is not kind and does not contain an inch of softness. Wilbur doesn't know it yet, but this night is the last night he spends truly human.
Or Wilbur gets a terrible and evil horror obsessed with him. And Phil? Phil gets what he wants.

Wilbur, he learns, doesn't become any less uncanny the more you know him. Almost the contrary, in fact. He is, quite possibly, the strangest human being Techno ever encountered in his 18 years of existence. And he looked into his mirror once.
If only it was the only weird thing.
There are crows following him literally everywhere. And it's not regular crows, far from it. The only time Techno really looked one in its little beady and intelligent eyes, there was... something. This thing was definitely NOT an animal. And Techno was kinda okay with that at first. Look, his finals are approaching way too fast, Techno's not about to let some potentially hallucinated crows ruin his week.
But then, the terrors start to like him. They follow him to his dorm and stare at him silently and unmoving throughout his day. When Techno points it out to Wilbur, he just laughs, bright and loud, and says.
"I'm glad they like you. They're my father's you know. They like to protect family, don't worry about it."
Why, then, do they follow him? He swallows the question when he realizes he doesn't want to know the answer.
Or, it's time for Techno to be "adopted".

Technoblade shoots him a look from where he's sitting, barely a foot away from Tommy. "You don't have your keys, do you?" Tommy holds his chest, hissing. "Dude, what the fuck?!" How did he even get here? There wasn't a single noise! It's a fucking deadly silence actually, not even a single insect making itself known. "You almost killed me, oh my god."
"You know what kills me, Tommy? The fact that you thought it'd be a good idea to one: lie to me, two: sleep outside when you're sick."
He whisper-shouts back. "Well, what would you have me do?"
"I don't know, ask me for help? Maybe?"
"Do you think I- Techno." He shakes his head, ignoring the burning behind his eyes and the cracks in his voice. "Techno, I don't trust you."
There's a fire in Techno's eyes that contradict the softness with which he holds Tommy's hands. "You will."
The Minecrafts are nice, really. But sometimes, he can't help but feel like there's something... wrong. Tommy's not sure he wants to uncover what's underneath their smiles.
Or: The family is finally complete.
