This pact, however, created the unexpected. A child born of their two halves. The Sister Goddess that calmed the dominion of the Two, bringing balance.The eldest, Light, was unsettled by the new deity created in the midst of the pact. Dubious to the new knowledge, he proposed to let the small being live. Dark, the youngest, was fascinated and curious. His creatures of Darkness shared the same fascination.
It was only then that this small experiment born of their accidents became their greatest.

“No, no.” Her mother laughs, like a bell jingling and wavering. “We… we are only needed for one thing. Like the light, Maquia. The lights you see around here are used to do one thing. To give energy and magical sources to everyone. We’re like that but for a different purpose.”

Summary
Sasaki Jin's only mission here on Remnant was to deliver a message to Ozma from the Brother Gods. He didn't think they'd go far enough to reincarnate years before the start of RWBY. Well, at least he can take his sweet time and change small things in the beginning and start from there.
On another note, he tries to fix his own changes to events too because it inadvertently messed up the whole plot. For better or worse.
