“I tried to call Sam,” Captain America says, bewildered. He’s sprinting like Usain Bolt and doesn’t sound even a little out of breath. Fucker. “Who’re you?”
“Someone who’s watching you live on TV,” Bucky tells him as the tiny patriotic figure on the screen takes the turns like he instructed. Bucky should probably be a lot more freaked out about this, but honestly? After a tour in the Middle East and six years as a nurse in New York, even this isn’t enough to ruffle him. One sees a lot of shit in the ER. “Also, you better hang up now, that thing is behind the next bend.”
“Uh, okay,” Captain America says. “Thanks?”
“Whatever,” Bucky says, disconnects the call and turns the TV off to get ready for his shift.

Summary
It’s not every day that Bucky finds himself necking with a national icon in the middle of the deserted 6th Avenue, especially after an attack by a swarm of tiny robots.
It’s pretty awesome, though. 10/10, would do again, maybe without the robots.
Steve stops sucking a hickey on Bucky’s neck only when his earpiece crackles into life and someone yells loud enough for Bucky to hear, “Rogers! Quit making out with Nurse Jackie and get moving! Pizza in the Tower in thirty minutes.”
“Ugh,” Steve says against the stubble on the underside of Bucky’s jaw. “I hate Stark.”

Summary
Out of all things Bucky would expect to happen in the middle of the night (emergency call from the hospital, JARVIS informing him that Steve’s been an idiot again, Steve forgetting about time zones and trying to call for a quick phone sex session), a kidnapping isn’t very high on his list.
That is, until two days before Christmas, when he wakes up in the small hours after a twelve-hour shift, and finds out that there’s a bunch of guys in his dark bedroom, stumbling into furniture like awkward baby giraffes.

I invested all our money on outer space mining, because we thought we’d never have to give a single penny for another wedding. You were supposed to be the least marketable child I have, you swear too fucking much.”
“Well, it’s good thing that Steve cares only about my hot body and not about what comes out of my mouth,” Bucky retorts.
“He probably does care about what comes in your mouth, though,” his mom says, and Bucky snorts coffee up his nose.

”None of those is an actual figure of speech,” Bucky says at the same time as Sam says, ”I can’t decide if it’s too late or too early for this shit, but it’s still disgusting.”
”Say the guys holding each other next to one’s sleeping husband,” Tony says, taking a slurp of the smoothie. ”That’s exactly the kind of behavior that screams Mai Tais and illicit hand jobs for breakfast.”
