Summary
When Ezra gets tipped about a high value smuggling job at the local international airport, of course he wants to intercept. And drags Zeb, his co-worker (and buddy) along too. It shouldn't have been anything special. They did this many times. Obtain funds illegitimately, from illegitimate people, split it with Zeb, store some for Kanan's eye surgery, spend the rest on (much to Zeb's chagrin) new equipment they won't ever use. Except, it all goes bad when it turns out their target was of Black Sun, a notorious criminal empire they avoid the best they can. Will Ezra keep his sanity (and head) all the while they find a certain Captain Rex of a mysterious organization taking interest in their operations?

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

His eyes snap open and he sits up with a jolt, frantically looking around the small room. He remembers these quarters. They used to be his, after all. It had been nearly six years since he had last seen his sparse living space onboard a star destroyer. The oppressive grey walls make the room feel smaller, as if they are closing in on him. It all has to be a bad dream, right? How else could he be back with the Empire?

Armed with his knowledge of the future, he decides to become Fulcrum earlier than he had the first time around. Maybe this time, more people could be saved. Summary
In the most crucial moment of his life, Ezra makes the decision not to leave his family behind. As the 7th fleet is dragged into hyperspace and its shattered remains are littered across the void between galaxies, the Chimera is grounded on Lothal, allowing Ezra to remain in his galaxy. The Ghost crew knows his presence will only invite retaliation, so he flees into the wider galaxy, eagerly joining other's fight for freedom away from the wider rebellion.

"Did that guy actually just kill a stormtrooper using a lightsaber or should we be worried about our cargo having hallucinogens tucked beneath these thermal detonators?"
"Yeah," Kanan grumbled. "He's an imbecile. Always has been."
Hera felt her brow twist in confusion to his response. Honestly, she'd just been expecting him to acknowledge that he knew what a lightsaber looked like—there were enough people in the Galaxy that had never seen a Jedi that he could have easily pretended not to know what she was talking about. She wasn't expecting him to both acknowledge the weapon that the red headed man was wielding and being familiar with the man who clearly didn't get the memo that the Empire was paying a rather large price for Jedi these days, both dead and alive.
"Wait, you know him?" she hissed, now almost certain that there was some sort of aerosolized spice in the crates that she shuffled through, because there's no way that Kanan was giving up this much of his past in a matter of just a few minutes. Not when they'd been together for over a year and he hadn't even uttered a word of it.
