Abstract: Jayce Talis was the founder of Hextech, a short-lived proprietary technology that was a revolutionary blend of science and magic. He, along with his now-named partner, Viktor, created the Hexgates, the now-defunct rapid transit that put Piltover on the map. Talis was an inventor during the fraught period of time when tensions between Piltover and the Undercity (as Zaun was called then), began to boil over, leading to a brief stint as a Councilor, where he attempted to keep the Hexgates and Piltover safe. Encompassing his time during those years which included the Council Bombing, and culminated into the Battle of Piltover, the Jayce Talis papers (inclusive dates: 959-995, bulk dates: 980-991) include materials related to his early childhood and personal interests, the founding of Hextech and unreleased inventions, the Hexgates, a deeper look into his previously unknown partner's life, and what the world thought of him, both during and after his presumed death after the Battle of Piltover.

Summary
On the brink of what could be the most violent war Piltover and Zaun have seen in the current age, an experiment goes horribly wrong sending an arcane blast throughout the lab and twisting Jayce's body into something else. Overwhelmed by a sense of dread, Jayce flees to the only person he can trust with arcane destruction. The Machine Herald of Zaun, his ex-partner, Viktor.
OR, sometimes you find yourself happily enjoying Team Fight Tactics and get a shapeshift group of which Jayce is part of only to find he doesn't turn into a cool animal or golem, he just goes from ranged to melee fighter and you get so mad you make a whole story about it.
