Summary
Ren and his cat Sesame have just moved halfway across the country to a new apartment, where Ren hopes that he can settle down and make a fresh start. However, he accidentally starts a feud with his new neighbor, Dan Heng, when Sesame attempts to attack Dan Heng's poor terrified cat, Mochi.
Ren finds himself particularly bothered by Dan Heng and his attitude. For some reason, he cannot get Dan Heng out of his head.
After a series of events, the pair find themselves learning more about each other and beginning to grow closer, as do their cats.
Perhaps they were wrong about each other, something that neither quite know how to handle...

Summary
He shifts his gaze down to stare at the colourful, moving mass of people, all waiting eagerly for him to make his entrance. All of a sudden, the nerves he’d thought he had conquered gnaws at his stomach again.
Expectations for him are high, his older brother’s own coming of age ball still fresh enough in everyone’s mind that anything less than absolute perfection in his demeanour and appearance will be frowned upon.
Sensing his growing discomfort, Dan Feng clasps Dan Heng’s clammy hands between his own and gives the limbs a reassuring squeeze. Slowly, the younger prince’s shoulders lower. The action is reminiscent of how his brother would comfort him whenever the overwhelming pressure of his position weighed over him.
“Just bear with it for one night,” Dan Feng murmurs gently. “Then tomorrow I’ll do my best to clear your schedule up so you can spend a day in the archives.”

Summary
Even at the alter, General Ren does not smile. His expressionless gaze is cast on their joined hands instead as if it offends him. He does not lift his gaze until they rise from a deep bow, deeper than Dan Heng has ever had to in his life and it is for a man who has slain thousands of his people.
His smile slips when their eyes meet, a clash of green and red so vivid the world comes to a standstill to this single point in time.
After six years on the battlefield, Dan Heng meets defeat in the face of his consort.

In the aftermath of a bloody war, the way to a lasting peace treaty comes in the form of marriage; generals of their respective armies would be offered as consorts for the heirs of their nations. In the name of peace, Dan Heng reluctantly accepts the show of goodwill but seeing an enemy as a friend is no easy task.
It quickly becomes clear that his own people would sooner seek vengeance for their losses than to accept this political power play, even at the cost of their prince's life.
