He doesn't want to make this promise—he knows that something bad will happen to him—he hates that he has to force Rudo to promise him this.
"Promise me that you will find him," He said. "If you're ever in trouble, 'kay?"
Rudo looked at him, his eyes widen like a small frighten child—he hates that fright look—he want Rudo to be happy, and to feel loved. He deserve to feel and know those emotions-!
Rudo looked down at the ground then nodded at him—Regto smiled bitter-sweetly and patted his head slowly—wanting for Rudo to get used to the gesture.

Summary
Gachiakuta, but if Rudo had a little brother, the world was more fucked up, Jabber wanted to touch Zanka a little more than already implied, and bad people were more common than usual.
Yeah, that’s kind of all I can say without spoiling more than the tags already probably did. Anyway, the first three or so chapters will be incredibly strict in canon compliance to set up how the show happens before things start to amp up. Beware that I haven’t written in about two years, so this won’t sound as cool as it would if I weren’t rusty.

“Well,” the man starts again, like none of that just passed through Rudo’s head, like he didn’t almost bolt across the table. He clears his throat, then flashes a small, easy smile. “Guess introductions are in order.”
Rudo doesn’t return it.
“Name’s Enjin,” he says. “I work with foster care and CPS. I take care of kids in situations like yours.”
The words land heavy. Cold. They sink into Rudo’s chest like stones dropped into water, the ripple slow but suffocating.
Cps.
Rudo’s grip on the stuffed animal tightens.
There’s no one left to take care of him.
Understanding settles in, sharp and absolute.
He’s going back into the system.
(Or: After the mysterious death of his father, Rudo is put into a foster home and learns what it means to heal and be loved.)
