Summary

Cullen had said it plain and clearly, with skin too pale but cheeks too red to blame on the bitter wind, and Trevelyan had accepted it in stride and never pushed for more.
Except it was Cullen that had found him in the snow, lungs burning, heart hammering, hands trembling, and carried him back like he had been something precious, blasphemously more precious than the title he had had to shoulder.
But now that the Inquisition had officially been disbanded, Trevelyan no longer the Inquisitor, and Cullen no longer his Commander, Cullen suddenly found himself without reasons to refuse the easy, private smile Trevelyan had always reserved for him, and him only.
