Summary
Since Stanley...left, Stanford has been doing terrible. Having failed both his senior year and his chance to get into any sort of respectable college, he's being shipped out to Oregon for the summer to live with a reclusive and eccentric great-aunt. There are mysterious caves, beautiful lakes, and deep woods to explore, but the universe doesn't seem willing to cut him a break, given that the root of all his problems is sleeping next to him, snoring like there's no tomorrow.

Oh, and also about Kinich, who loves her.
Unfortunately, Kinich is better known as Malipo - your friendly neighbor with digital webbing, poor sleep schedule, multiple identity crises at once, and, of course, a miserable love life. Everything a seventeen-year-old could possibly wish for.
There's no time to resolve any of those for Kinich. And definitely not when a bunch of weirdos show up. They say they're like him. That they know different versions of Teyvat and have seen sights he could never even dream of.
Kinich just wanted to pass his literature class.
Instead, he was somehow chosen to fight for his dimension (and all of the rest).

Lambad cracks his knuckles and shakes his head. “The others got it covered. Besides,” he grunts. “my bones aren’t what they used to be. I could use the break.”
“…Does it ever get tiring?”
Lambad turns to him. “What part?”
Kaveh gestures vaguely behind them. “I don’t know… everything?” he says lamely. “The carrying, the spills, all the—“ He falters, because his first instinct is to say all the burdens, but that seems unfair.
Old habits die hard, he supposes.

It was a ship designed for fleeing disaster — an insurmountable chasm lay between it and golden Fortuna, bringer of civilization and glory.
