Summary
“What in the bloody hell was that?” Sirius asks James, once Lily passes by without so much as a glance toward them.
“What was what?” James replies as he surveys the breakfast options laid out on the table.
“Oh, so it is you in there, is it?”
“What are you on about now?”
“Thought you’d been possessed for a moment,” clarifies Sirius. “Couldn’t recognize your voice.”
“Yeah, I’d wondered if Peeves might have been having us on,” adds Peter helpfully, now that he has caught on too, before biting down into another piece of toast.
“Or you’d ingested a low-grade aging potion,” Remus suggests cheerfully as he pours himself more tea."All right, Evans?" said James, and the tone of his voice was suddenly pleasant, deeper, more mature." - Snape's Worst Memory, Order of the Phoenix

Summary
Two summers ago, I wrote the book I always wanted to read: a canon-compliant Marauders era Harry Potter series. I dedicated it to my daughter, who declared it to be "just like Harry Potter, but funnier!" I wrote it because I loved the Byronic hero of Sirius Black, made ever more complex the more we learn about him, his family, and his friendships.
"Sirius Black and the Imperial Scroll" follows the Marauders' first year from the perspective of Sirius Black, who defied his family by choosing Gryffindor. This story of redemption grapples with fate versus free will, whether grace comes before reformation, the pull of the darkness on the mind of a young boy called to be good, and the power of "soul friendship."
I hope you enjoy this little work and consider following along. My quiet hope is that if you enjoy it, you will share it with a friend or two, to allow the life of the work to take root in others.

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, being a death eater was not all about murdering and torturing. Well, a lot of it was that, but there was also an artistic and athletic component to it. Synchronised swimming, to be precise. The Dark Lord bestowed a speedo upon those who impressed him with their talents in said field.
For Severus Snape, the boy who didn't have much, this speedo was everything.

Summary
Becoming a Death Eater, as it turns out, requires a lot more than skill in the Dark Arts. The newest recruits to Voldemort's ranks may have mastered the Cruciatus, but until they've proven themselves adept at artistic swimming, they won't be accepted into his ranks.
Severus Snape is determined to be a success. Regulus Black has concerns. Bellatrix Lestrange is not a certified lifeguard.
