    Jaskier has just come across the most interesting Alpha.

    He smells him first; it’s easy to notice the difference, the tavern so far being comprised only of scentless Betas, with the exception of himself as the sole Omega. Then the door of the establishment opens and, alongside a hot gust of late-spring air, comes the indistinguishable musk that characterises most Alpha scents. This one is combined with fresh sweat, horse and a faint iron trace of blood.

    There is something about him, something that calls to Jaskier. And it isn’t necessarily his scent, heady and delicious as it is, or even his striking features, his shock-white hair and amber eyes, though those are certainly not a deterrent. It’s something more, and Jaskier doesn’t know what exactly it is, but he’s going to do his very best to find out.

    When disgrace falls upon the Metinna Royal House, in the wake of the Nilfgaardian invasion, the omega Prince Julian of Lettenhove is captured by Redanian spies, who come for him at the infamously demented King of the North’s behest.
    The south is swarming with Nilfgaardians though, and the only way to smuggle the Prince out of the war-ridden country is through mountainous monster territory. The King finds that the best solution to this problem is to hire a witcher to do his bidding.

    The chains fall from Julian’s hands, clattering to the floor. His hands would have followed suit had they not been seized. He’s hauled up then, and has to cling to the guard to keep from toppling — his head spins from the sudden vertical position and his sore muscles scream in agony.
    “What the fuck is this?” the stranger all but growls, his eyes flashing with fury. Julian starts at the sound of his voice, gravely and biting. “I was told I was to smuggle a weapon, not a godsdamned omega.”
