Yes, well, she had plans for all four of those pairs of boots.
After the Miyazaki, Chancellors Kelrec and Ake retreated from each other into their own grief.
Now, Nahla plans to spend All-World's break with an old friend and Kelrec is looking forward to a few days of quiet as the senior officer in charge of their shuttered campus. Both are unaware that two cadets in the deepest of shit are about to throw them back into each other's orbit. It might be love, Admiral Vance's worst headache to date, or both.
(Vance was on Betazed while the two of them were conspiring at the San Francisco Founding Day party. Please stop asking him about it, he didn’t invite them, and he doesn't want to know who did.)

Summary
The second class of cadets to enter Starfleet Academy was a mirror of healing Federation; along with the expected Humans, Bajorans, and Ni’vari, it contained dozens of new species and their unfamiliar habits. Nothing so odd that it was worth raising a fuss over, but certainly worth recounting in the Chancellor’s office at the end of the day.
Even before she called in the cadets for their testimony, Chancellor Ake realized that there was something uncomfortably familiar about the Lanthanite cadet at the center of all of these stories.

Summary
So seducing Chancellor Ake didn't go as planned. That's fine, no plan survives combat unchanged.
And then she seduces him, and things really don't go as planned. Kelrec is half-convinced that all of this is a grand joke on Ake's part. Strike that, after the so-called "dress rehearsal" with the flatulent Kometa fish he is 100% convinced that it's a joke on her part.
But when Alpherati arrive Kelrec realizes that diplomacy is, indeed, just that strange.

82237006Nahla butts in on a conversation between Lura and Kelrec and makes her own fun. Reader's choice if it's flirting, bedevilment, or both.
Their conversation’s stilted, strictly professional, as is both Lura and Kelrec’s wont. Nahla ignores the actual content of that talk and butts right in with a bold, “Chancellor, you’re not trying to seduce my teaches away from me, are you?” She even slings a possessive arm around Lura’s stiff shoulders, casting her War College counterpart an offended look.
It’s too easy. He instantly squawks, “What?” She may as well have slapped him across the face. He insists, “Of course not!” He couldn’t look more uptight if he tried.

Genesis, having just finished her bathroom break, quickly stops in the doorway. She simply can’t believe what she is witnessing, and tries to not have her mind go there.
But to see her two Chancellors coming out from a tiny closet - him straightening his jacket and she with a cheeky smile on her face - well, it’s really difficult for Genesis not to make the parallel to her own classmates and their use of closets and small spaces.
Not sure what to make of the whole thing, she decides to tell no one and try to forget the whole thing.

Enter Nahla Ake. She had been pestering him to let her put together a birthday dinner all week. When he refused, she started pestering him to at least take the day off (not like he could. Sobbing cadets wait for no man's birthday). This morning, after she sentenced Lythe to fewer hours of menial labor than the girl deserved and sent her on her way, she had asked him if he would mind if she got him a present. Nothing big, just something to show her affection.
He had lost it and snapped "You can wear your damn boots to our planning meeting this afternoon. And have your uniform actually meet regulations for the first time in your long life."
