Summary
When weapons designer and SHIELD consultant Tony Stark and his son are kidnapped following a routine weapons demonstration, newly defrosted World War II hero Steve Rogers is sent to find them.
But what begins as just another mission, a way for Captain America to reintegrate into society, quickly warps into something more as betrayals are discovered, harsh, long-buried truths are finally brought to light, and Tony and Steve come to realise that their biggest allies are each other.

Summary
At the beginning, when it was new, Reed had theorized there must be other universes, many of them, perhaps all of them, where they were close. And so Johnny joked, "What, so we're soulmates?" and Peter gave the ceiling his most affronted lead-paint stare for the following ten minutes.
But much later, when they were sitting in his dorm room, and Johnny was yapping his ear off about some car he had 'rescued' while leaning way too far into his personal space, Peter had to admit. If he had to be stuck with someone for all eternity or whatever, there were worse people to suffer with than Johnny Storm.
(or: Peter slowly coming to terms that he may like Johnny a little more than he really wanted to admit.)

Summary
The apartment was smaller than the word apartment deserved.
Calling it a box would have been more honest. Four walls, a ceiling low enough that Peter felt like he’d bang his head trying to stand up from unpacking, and a window that technically opened but jammed half the time. The place smelled faintly of mildew, maybe because of the carpet - or maybe because this whole building had given up on life a few decades ago and was just waiting for someone merciful to bulldoze it.
He told himself it was fine. He told himself worse things had happened. Which, technically, was true.
That didn’t make him feel any better.

Peter shivered pulling the blanket tighter to him. It was 32 degrees outside and sleeping in an old beat up car in a Walmart parking lot didn’t allow for much warmth. He would have turned it on for some heat for a few minutes but it was broken. He had no money to fix it. Peter felt his stomach growl and took a sip from the water bottle in the cup holder.
He knew that the way he was living wasn’t good, but he also had no idea how to do better. He would have to drop out of school and if he dropped out of school then Mr. Stark would get wind of it. He knew that Mr. Stark would try to help but Peter felt his jaw clench—No, he could figure this out on his own. He wasn’t going to let him know how bad things were. He couldn’t chance him telling anyone that he was alone. He wasn’t about to get thrown into the system, but as long as no one knew what was going on. He’d be fine.
