    Summary

Mark Grayson thought he'd more reluctant to train under Cecil, the hard-boiled GDA director who sees the worst in everyone, including Mark. But as he learns more about him, he realizes there's a softer side to him. A side that Mark, strangely, wants to see more of.

    Summary

Mark was seventeen years old, one of the strongest soldiers, and yet still the weakest out of the many. He knew he was an oddity, knew that he was frowned upon, and knew—in a similar fashion—that he would be an oddity if he returned to Earth. But, deep in his chest, there was a longing to be fulfilled. It just so happened that his only chance to return to what was his birth planet was given to him in the form of a violent murder, and then an even more violent vengeance as he took a Viltrumite by the neck and drowned it in a body of salt water. By good or bad luck, the ocean belonged to Earth—which meant if he could figure out the mechanics of being human, he might even be able to find his Mom again. The issue, of course, was that some kind of human defense agency found him—and the dead Viltrumite—therefore coming to the conclusion that Mark had killed it.

Mark wasn’t sure if humans did that to each other. He could assume that they didn’t, but maybe he could say it was—what did humans call the teenager phase, again? Puberty?

(or: mark is raised as a viltrumite, and attempts to assimilate to earth to find his mom at the messy age of seventeen.)

    Summary

Of course Mark is gorgeous. It's a tertiary point at best.

An objective fact that can be acknowledged and then shunted aside for more important character traits, like moral leanings and physical stats. But to have him like this? Panting and desperate and clutching at Cecil, makes that objective fact swim to the forefront of his mind.

Anyone would be affected in a situation like this, most of all because it's so unexpected.

“So, why the automated message? Couldn’t you have just, I don’t know, sent a quick, ‘Hey, get up here’? It’s not like you haven’t done it before.”

“Oh, believe me, I would’ve if that had even been a friggin’ option. But, uh. Well.” Jack laughs, incredulous and—a little exasperated? “I’m kind of in a bind here, kitten.”
