Summary
The first time it happens, Kidd thinks it's all just one weird ass dream.
One moment Akagami's attack slams into him, agony flaring in every fiber of his body, the next he opens his eyes back in his quarters in Wano and yeah, it's easy to blame it on too much booze.
It's a bit weird to see things happening just as they did in his dream, but he doesn't bother dwelling too much on it. Not when it's so fun to rile Trafalgar up, or when the midget falls for his taunting with amusing predictability.
It's only after they part ways that he starts to actually give it some thought. Because everything is identical to his dream and like it or not, that means the chances of actually encountering Akagami are high.
Hours later, as he slams in the mast again and feels darkness creeping at the corner of his eyes, he can't help but wonder if it actually wasn't all a dream to start with.
Three redoes and defeats later he's well and truly aware that no matter how much he’d hoped everything was a dream, he's actually stuck in a time loop that is getting frustrating progressively fast.

Summary
The East Blue was a destination no one would have expected them to choose. It was also the only place they could go to in order to be safe. The flimsy piece of paper leading Wani flickered in their palm, tugging onward, forward. As if trying to confirm the choice was the right one.
Blue would help. Blue had to help. Wani had to trust the bonds they had forged together in their youth had not sundered throughout the years, even if Wani had not been able to be there for either Blue or Red when Roger died. Even if Whitebeard had denied them any help he could have offered, chained Wani in the brig to make sure they would not go seeking Blue or Red out.
Wani had to hope Blue would believe them they had at least tried.

Summary
Luffy shifts the first time when he is four. He's not sure what shifting really is - Gramps had said something, but Gramps was boring so he fell asleep listening - but the story Makino is telling him is interesting. It's about a unicorn who makes friends in the village - not like Luffy, who can't because the kids in Foosha don't like him - and Luffy feels like the unicorn is happy.
The unicorn isn't alone after all.
So between a moment and then next there's a small woosh of something and he feels different. Weird but not bad weird. Getting to his feet is hard. He just plops down in the grass - he doesn't hear Makino's little oh of surprise, her gaze going slightly fearful, slightly sharp. He doesn't know kids aren't supposed to shift so young.
He wants to whine at her to pick him up, but his sight is almost blurry and his words come out more like - well he's not very sure what, an animal perhaps but not one he heard before.
Then the woosh happens again and he's in 'Kino's lap, tired and hungry. Food becomes more important than finding out what just happened.

The boy turned to look at him, gaze furious peeking through sweaty matted hair that fell over his eyes and it was only then that Doflamingo noticed their color. Red, a brown-red so familiar he almost lost hold of his strings.
The same shape, the same colour, the same anger in them when something went wrong.
That single moment of distraction was enough for the pup to break free. To go back to running for his brother, running for that damned scaffold protected by three admirals and people much stronger than him. Crying out his brother's name as if it was the only truth he knew in this world and without him everything would come crumbling to dust.
Doflamingo knew the feeling.
A decade away in an island of snow and Rosinante's corpse cooling at his feet, Vergo grinning in pride.
He couldn't let the kid go. Not when those eyes were so familiar, when that gaze could be a mirror of his baby brother's. Not when it was possible...
Rocinante drunk on his liquor in Spider Miles, weeping for a child he had lost. Doflamingo thought the child to be dead and yet what if he had simply been left behind.

Summary
The girl whimpered in her sleep, curled in her brother's side. The boy's hands twitched, small bandages peppering his arms where the fire had gotten to him while trying to protect his sister. Shamrock was still unsure why he had saved them - his trip to Flevance had been meant for information only, to see if anything could be recovered from the destruction. He had almost passed them by; wouldn't have seen them at all if the girl hadn't whimpered, if her brother hadn't shushed her desperately, voice cracking as he begged her to stay awake for a while longer.
The moment his eyes fell on them, the boy jumped to his feet and almost toppled, a too small rock in his hands the only protection he had for himself and his sister.
They were small. Too small and weak, fragile. Delicate even, with their white marked skin and shivering bodies.
Broken, the doctor had said and Shamrock had wanted to snap at him in anger.
Or Shanks had a plan. His brother's children were not part of it. (They are now.)
