”Okay, Snowy, just as we practiced,” Phainon whispers to Snowy as softly as he can with all the children screaming and giggling in the playground. Snowy tilts his head to the side, his tongue out as he pants.
Phainon’s hopes wilt a little. Just a little, but he trusts his friend. Snowy has never disappointed him and he’s not going to let him down now! They walk down the path that brings them closer to the gorgeous stranger on the bench before Snowy suddenly takes off in the direction of the bench. Phainon’s hold on the leash loosens significantly before the entire thing ‘accidentally’ slips out of his hands.
”Snowy!” Phainon calls out, his voice tinged with enough franticness that it sounds sincere. But then, his sweet little puppy goes off the rails and headbutts himself into the stranger’s leg enough to knock him off his axis.
