Summary
The room was quiet, candles ignited along the edges of Xie Lian’s periphery, and danced shadows and lights across the walls. The flames flickered across Hua Cheng’s features, igniting him in ethereal shades of red and gold, he looked like a sunset burned into Xie Lian’s eyes, and he swallowed around the lump forming in his throat.
“San Lang?” He asked softly, nearly a whisper, and a hint of clarity came back to Hua Cheng’s gaze. Obsidian sharpened lethally for a moment before softening when registering Xie Lian’s face. “How are you doing?”
“You need to leave, gege.” Hua Cheng said, his voice seemed strained, his jaw clenched tight, Xie Lian could still see the flash of his fangs in the firelight. “You’re not supposed to be here.”
