Maybe one day it'll update, if not I can appreciate this beautiful fic for what it is. So often spider fics are just Peter flailing along trying so hard to do everything independently and most writers seem to struggle to include adult characters that interact with him and call him out on his bs in a realistic manner. Usually spiderman/peter just outsmarts everyone including the adult superheroes worried about them, it's lame peter is super smart but that shouldn't translate to outsmarting adult vigilantes in social situations he has no experience in. I love the complexity and maturity in the writing of the characters here and how they interact with each other in this fic, and clearly I'm just getting old always wanting to side with them lol.

The 141 knows very little about humans. They're fearsome, dangerous creatures from an even worse planet. The few expeditions foolish enough to get close disappeared entirely. The one report salvaged from a lucky ship, a long time ago, isn't really helping.
They have to figure out what to do with the one in front of them.Or, humans are space orcs but make it COD.

Summary
Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.
After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.
