If only his younger self weren't so arrogant. If only he had taken little Tom Riddle away from it all. Maybe he would still be evil, but he wouldn't be a monster. Albus realized this right before his death, and when Snape finally took his life, with his final fall, he asked to be forgiven.

He's lived as Hadrian Riddle, Harrison Potter-Black, Draco Malfoy, one weird Universe where he was the Weasley twins(both of them), and one where he was Dumbledore. That was a doozy but he's been avoiding one version of the timelines, one where he's with his father. Apparently Death wants him to face his fear.
