Summary
After seemingly defeating Vecna, those that forged into the depths of the Upside-Down are taken into the care of the government to be quarantined. But when Robin, Dustin, and Nancy are allowed to go home and reintegrate into society, Eddie Munson and Steve Harrington must stay behind as a result of their injuries. With nothing but a few books, some tapes, and a chalkboard in their respective “cells,” and no one but each other for company, these two forced acquaintances must find a way beyond their walls (both mental and cinder block) if they hope to find anything even close to comfort with the world they once knew kept far out of their reach.

Summary
Steve almost whispers, “We’re, uh… we’re doing this then?”
Eddie swallows, pretends it’s not basically a gulp. He nods, pretends it’s not a little frantic.
“You’re sure?” Steve says, moving closer to Eddie as if to test the waters.
“Yes,” Eddie says.
Steve closes the rest of the distance so they’re sitting with their legs pressed against each other. He tentatively reaches out, taking hold of Eddie’s hand where it rests on his knee, like it’s the easiest way to establish physical contact.
Steve looks up at him, earnest as Eddie’s ever seen him. “You’re totally, completely, and one-hundred percent sure you want to do this?”
Eddie tries and fails not to roll his eyes and groan.
“Like I said, I am sure, so please, for the love of all that is good and holy, do not make me beg you to fuck me,” Eddie says, grateful that his voice isn’t shaking like the rest of his body.

Eddie narrows his eyes.
Okay. Fine. Skipping foreplay, sure.
“Doing what, Harrington?”
Irritation flickers across Steve’s features as he steps forward again, still breathing hard and unevenly. Still red in the face.
“You’re really going to make me say it?” he whispers. “You want me to ask?”
“No,” Eddie grins, reaching up to tug at the red ascot tied around his stupid little sailor shirt. He leans in closer, hooking a finger into the waistband of his stupid little sailor shorts. His lips brush the shell of Steve’s ear as he speaks, voice pitched soft and low.
“You’re not going to ask. You’re going to beg.”—
Eddie spends his summer learning things about himself – such as the fact that the only thing he enjoys about his dreary summer job at the mall comes in the form of one Steve Harrington: fallen from grace, suited up in a borderline indecent uniform, easy to torment, and wound tighter than a drum.
