“It’s okay, Tim,” Steph said gently.
The comm felt like a knife in his ear.
“I’m not,” Tim said.
He didn’t know if he was saying "I’m not gay" or "I’m not okay," was pretty sure nobody else did either, and the next thing Tim knew, his comm was a crushed pile of plastic and tech in his clenched fist.

"The problem wasn’t that Tim was roaring down the street towards Gotham university, which had enough aliens surrounding it to safely bet that it’d be the next intergalactic arson victim.
It wasn’t even that there were still dozens of students and faculty trapped inside. He could’ve handled that. It was bad, but no worse than any of the other times he’d had to evacuate a doomed building.
But all of those other times, his boyfriend hadn’t been in the crossfire."

"A woman with a gun, who’d already been taken down once, strained to reach Robin on the ground. It was obviously going to be some sort of hostage attempt.
She got an inch from him before a birdarang embedded itself in her hand, forcing her to drop the gun with an agonized scream. Red Robin didn’t hesitate. He kicked her in the head with the heavy heel of his boot, grabbed Robin, and yanked him further away from her.
Red wasn’t aiming to kill, of course he wasn’t, but he was being less careful than Bruce had ever seen from him. Even with Boomerang, that had been methodical, planned out. This was just blind rage."
