The two brothers were born ten years apart, both sparking great change in the family.
The elder was healthy, free from the curse and never showed to have a remnant of it.
The younger appeared healthy but had it worse than most of his family.
Eternatus haunts the family of Leon and Hop. Leon never met Eternatus and went on to pursue his love for battling and became the undefeated champion of Galar for a time and Hop pursued a goal that he believed should’ve been accomplished thousands of years ago.

If we were being any more self deprecating he would have compared himself to a bird trapped in a cage, but he wasn't. This was of his own doing, his own accord. He had trapped himself here, it was here where he belonged. He was deceit.

“Hm. Just came to disturb me then?” Truthless Recluse responded with an unamused tone.
Shadow milk rolled his eyes, floating on over, “Am I just to ignore my most interesting subject when I see them? I think not”
“I am not your ‘subject’” Truthless Recluse retorted, “ I am as much deceit as you are.” He said in a much solemer tone.
Shadow milk cookie stayed silent for a bit before unexpectedly giving a shrug, “I suppose so.”
AKA: Truthless Recluse now lives in the tower, reconciling for his friends death and coming to terms with his deceitful past. But when does his behaviour get out of hands and starts becoming a danger to himself?
