HEYYY HAPPY SPOOKY MONTH!!!! haven't been in the fandom for awhile, so apologies if any of the details are wrong. I haven’t quite decided whether I'm going to do one shot every single day, or if I'm going to do them twice a week. Phainon did the only thing possible in such a situation: He panicked.
“Uh,” he said, because clearly his eloquence had abandoned him during one of the cycles, “yes?”
// OR, circumstance leads to the heirs thinking Phainon only lived through thirty-three cycles. Rather than correcting them on this, Phainon doubles down and decides this is the new narrative he'll go along with so as to avoid worrying them too much.

"I'll what?" Mydei asks.
"You'll—" Phainon's teeth are gritted. His breath comes in harsh pants. He takes a hit to the side, lands one to Mydei's face. "—Take me with you," he finishes. That's the moment when he falters, losing his balance after taking a knee to the gut, glaring furiously but not struggling when he finds himself pinned. His eyes, up close, are frightfully blue.
"You're smiling," he says.
Mydei smiles a little wider. "You'd be wise to assume I'm baring my teeth."

Mydei fights monsters and travels alone. Emphasis on that last part. That is, until some village boy starts following him around, desperate to get stronger. -

Chuuya had done this before after missions, after fights, after Dazai came home pretending he wasn’t sore. He always pretended he didn’t like it, which was a lie. Now Dazai didn’t pretend at all.
He made a sound so soft it almost didn’t exist—bordering on a whimper. Chuuya’s hands moved down, kneading along the muscles beside Dazai’s spine. Every time Chuuya hit a knot, Dazai let out little whine, half pain, half relief.
“Stop making noises like that,” Chuuya muttered.
“I can’t help it,” Dazai whined.
“Yes you can.”
“No,” Dazai insisted, voice wobbling. “It hurts and it feels good and I’m sick.”
Dazai doesn’t ask for help when he’s sick like a normal person. He whines, he clings, he complains like it’s his job—and he feels awful enough that even Chuuya can’t pretend it’s just annoying.
or: Chuuya acts exasperated. Dazai acts dramatic. They both know Chuuya will baby the fuck out of him anyway.
