Summary
In the quiet Alabama town of Clanton, an ordinary church becomes the epicenter of something ancient, hungry, and impossible to contain. When a violent storm forces a group of survivors into the church's underground shelter, they discover that the building was constructed over a sealed chamber - a prison meant to contain a primordial entity known only as the First.
Among the survivors is Jared, a young man cursed with a monstrous transformation he barely understands. As the storm rages above and the pack of werewolves he once belonged to circles the church, Jared's condition worsens. His instincts sharpen. His memories fracture. And the First begins to whisper to him through the walls.
The group soon realizes they are trapped between two horrors: the pack outside, and the First's "pieces" - living fragments of its consciousness - breaking through the concrete around them. As the ancient seal weakens, the First awakens, calling to Jared with a voice older than humanity itself.
