    “Why do you smell like that?” Neteyam asked.
    “I was in the brewing den,” she explained, “for work.”
    He leaned in again, sniffing the air around her, closer this time, even burying his face in her hair. “This doesn’t smell like kava…” he muttered, his voice laced with confusion.
    She rolled her eyes, “Kava has always smelled like that, Neteyam.”
    “No, it doesn’t,” he argued.
    “Yes, it does! How else would it smell, then?”
    “It—it’s supposed to be sweeter,” Neteyam stammered, “Like how you usually smell!”
    She stared at him for a moment, confused. “What…?”

    после этого ее куру больше не работает -- ее спасли
    она была сначала в клане ремесленников, потом в горном (встречала их в детстве, взбаламошный наследник хотел ее украсть), а потом оказалась в пустыне когда бежала от небесных. благодаря компасу ее приняли
    оказалось, что в ней маячок -- в итоге вытащили
    В пустыне встретила Паука, отправила его с торговцами в меткайина, отдав браслет Нейтеаму
    спайдер добрался до салли, все узнали что случилось с нирвени

    Kiri and Tsireya never found Lo'ak on that shore, so he has to come to terms with his attempt on his own.

    However, after a horrible nightmare, Jake offers to soothe Lo'ak with tsaheylu, something he hasn't done in years. Lo'ak accepts, not thinking about what else his dad might find amongst his swirling, poisoned thoughts.

     

    Or, Lo'ak's struggles with the weight of his grief vs Jake's C- parenting that he might be able to upgrade to a B+ when he realizes how much pain his son is in.

    “You’re fucking hurt and you still tried to help me.” Lo’ak finally met his brother’s eyes. “You shouldn’t have done that.”

    Neteyam’s face softened, and he reached out to grip both of his shoulders. “That was my decision. Just like everything else was my decision. You don’t get to carry that.”

    But in fact Lo’ak was carrying it. He felt the weight of it with every breath. The guilt that had been building since the ship, since the bullet, since the moment he’d pulled Neteyam from the water and felt his brother’s blood warm between his fingers.

    OR

    Neteyam survives the shot, but Jake still looks at his other son as if it’s his fault. Lo’ak doesn’t survive that he was the reason it happened, and the rifle does its job. He dies.
