Summary

Summary
“I do not know how much longer I can take this all.” Julian just cries into the phone, he is unable to apologise for waking Jannis up or to explain himself. He hardly ever cries, but right now it is just too much and everything runs free. He cannot take this anymore.
“What do you mean?” Jannis asks and yawns.
“Kai” Julian breaths.
“What happened?” Jannis asks and this time you can hear the care and worry in his voice instead of the sleep.
“I … I visited him for his birthday and it was great. It is just … I know we are just friends, but I cannot stand this anymore … Jannis, it just … it hurts, you know?” Julian whispers. How do you describe to someone else that you spend the last few years living with heartache and that now it is just getting too much?
“Julian, you need to tell Kai. This is eating you up.” Jannis says softly.
“I cannot!” Julian whispers. “It would be unfair and selfish. He is my best friend and he has a boyfriend."Or: When Kai and Julian first meet at practice in 2017 neither of them expected how things would develope between them... if only Kai would not keep a horrible secret from everyone, including Julian.

"Why'd you do them if you're not great at it?" Johnny muses
"Hmm?"
"The Sudoku. Why bother if you can't do them?"
"I can do them perfectly fine thank-you very much," Simon retorts, "I'm just not very fast at them. Besides, practice makes perfect, right? Gotta keep my brain young and active."
"Can't you think of other ways to keep your brain active? Y'know, stuff you're actually good at?" Johnny teases.
"Are you just going to sit there for the next five and a half hours making fun of me because I'd like to know now so I can move seats."
"What and sit next to Salivating Steve over there or Mouth-breathing Mike? I don't think so," Johnny smiles, "I think you're stuck with annoying old me so what says you and me work on these sudoku's together and maybe after you get off this bus you might not think I'm as insufferable as you do right now."
Which begs the question, how well can you really get to know someone in seven hours?

Johnny and Simon meet on a coach journey from Stansted Airport to Manchester and have seven hours to either get to know one another or awkwardly smile and never see the other again. Where Johnny is involved, silence is never an option.

Summary
Simon Riley, captain of the Manchester Soldiers, is one of the best goal scorers in the entire premier league. For some reason, however, he cannot score a goal against John MacTavish to save his life. It's driving him a little mad at this point.
When John gets booted from his team for a "breach of contract" Simon does his best to be professional, to welcome his new goalie. That's what good captains do. It's just a shame MacTavish is such an arrogant prick.
