Summary
For the first time in longer than he cares to remember, Bucky is free to do as he pleases. No mandatory check-ins, no therapy, no world to save. He decides to go on a lone road trip to actually see the land he's shed so much blood to protect.
His first stop? The home of a disgraced acquaintance turned barely tolerable ally that he hasn't heard from since they parted ways five months ago.
The issue? His short visit may be longer than expected.

Bucky’s eyes opened slowly. He blinked a few times before rolling over. He knew the weekend routine by now. Bob always was the first to wake up and would make his wake presence known by yelling for Bucky. Then would pick him up and cuddle with him until the other kids would be up. -
