Summary
Buck has been in a lot of awkward situations. Back when he first started sleeping around in LA, when he wasn’t looking for partners to spend the night with so he could have a place to sleep other than his jeep, and hasn’t gotten the memo yet of being gone before breakfast. A lot of rejections and job interviews where they would only focus on his lack of further education and not on the previous job experiences. A lot of dinner dates too where he just didn’t know how to behave or what were appropriate topics. All of them couldn’t compare to the full force of sheer wrong, wrong, wrong that has been hitting them since both Chimney and Hen have seen each other.
or: a kinda preview of how buck and eddie got there and also fix-it fic about the dinner intervention because the one we got was just sad to watch.

Summary
The luck it had taken him to get into the 118, his first station, mind you, had never sat right with him. Then again, lots of things didn’t sit right.
Like the fact that on his last shift, he’d nearly been taken out by a supporting beam that the flames hadn’t even reached yet. Logically, Buck knew there was no reason for it to fall, and definitely no reason for it to fall directly at him. In a previous life, Buck would have thought it was planned. In this life, he chalked it up to a freak accident. Those things happened every day; he saw it every day. It was just a freak accident.
But then, Edmundo fucking Diaz showed up in his locker room, and Buck knew. He knew someone was trying to kill him.
~~
Buck is a retired spy trying to make his way as a firefighter. His life was going well until his old partner turned up undercover at his station. Eddie was tasked with being Buck's bodyguard now that they were the only two surviving members of their old team. Can they protect each other long enough to figure out who's systematically assassinating everyone from Buck's past life, while simultaneously hiding their connection from the rest of the 118?

“Can you get in?” Sam asked.

Summary
He basically fled LA to escape the blazing fires and the haunting memories that always come with them. And where did they send him to? The fucking desert. There is no escaping the heat. It’s like Buck is burning from within—not just because he’s sweating buckets, but because he’s hurting.
All his grief and anguish, all his feelings—everything he so carfeully supressed—it’s seething and blazing right beneath the surface. That’s why he had to go. He couldn’t deal with any of it. So he did the next logical thing, what anyone would do in his situation. He asked his former commander to be reactivated from reserve into active duty.
He went back to the SEALs.OR: Buck doesn’t handle Bobby’s death very well. So leaves the 118 to become an active SEAL again and only Maddie knows about it. But the truth always comes out eventually. How will his family react when they finally find out?

Summary
“Mr. Buckley, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving Dr. Jennifer Wells, a Fire Psychologist hired by the LAFD. We believe you may be able to act as a key witness, and we have a few questions for you.”
Buck doesn't do therapy in person. Buck doesn't talk about his 1.0 days. Buck doesn't talk about his past sex addiction. What happened was consensual, and his fault, and the team clearly agreed, because they had joked about it. It's fine. It doesn't bother him anymore.
The Los Angeles courts don't quite agree. When probationary firefighter Victor Santana of Station 153 presses charges against Dr. Wells, the team come to realize just how deeply she hurt Buck - and how much Buck hasn't been dealing with it.

Summary
After the failed intervention at Athena's house, Buck fled, his disbelief quickly swallowed by a rising tide of fury. Hen’s rant about no one caring echoed in his ears, each word piercing deep until his vision burned red.
No one cared? No one? He had cared! He had tried to hold everyone together, checking in, reaching out, desperately trying to stop the 118 from falling apart. But they made it clear Buck's efforts weren’t wanted, weren’t needed, or in Hen’s case, didn’t even count.
Just when Buck’s hurt and anger finally overflowed, he encountered someone with the power to change it all.
A crossroads demon.
