"Life wasn't simple for anyone involved in the Positivity and Negativity War, especially for those on negativity's side. Granted that wasn't a whole lot but that was not something anyone was willing to bring up.
Dream was just trying his hardest to calm the pain and suffering of monsters, Nightmare wanted power, Ink wanted to have fun, Killer wanted to serve Nightmare, Cross wanted his universe back, Dust wanted to get away from his sins, Horror wanted to eat.
And Swap? Swap was assumed to just want to help Dream in his mission.
But that's not exactly the truth I'm afraid - he's afraid."
Nightmare wanted Swap on his side and takes full advantage of a bad situation - but it's sweet.

This is a rewrite of my old fic ‘Young Blood, Fresh Fangs’ aka ‘accidental murder baby acquisition’ and may or may not become part of a series. Featuring such amazing recurring characters as Bucket, Red (who is yellow, and also the local thembo), the now renamed twins Onyx and Opal, and the debatably anomalous vending machine that appears to be infinitely restocking with new supplies depending on the situation, as well as fleshing out the other members of the crew who unfortunately didn’t make it.
