    Summary

The young man stared at him, shocked.

"You... don't you remember me?" he asked, finding it simply inconceivable.

And Lance, in other circumstances, would have been amused by that reaction, but there was a little girl he had to bring back to her mother; he hadn't slept for almost twenty-seven hours and needed a break.

"No, dude, now if you want to excuse me..."

The boy turned Lance to him, their faces a short distance away, purple eyes fixed on his, and Lance's treacherous heart skipped a beat.

"Blue Spirit, I'm Red Warrior. Do you really not remember me?"

At that point, Lance began to break out in a cold sweat. Of course, he couldn't remember him. Lance wasn't the real one.

(In which, due to a stupid stunt, the seventeen-year-old Lance dies and finds himself in the body of a villain of his best friend's favourite graphic novel, trying not to attract too much attention. Too bad for Lance, Keith doesn't make things easy for him at all.)

    Summary

He can see ghosts, which means he still has family. Still has Shisui, and all the aunts and uncles and cousins and distant relatives he didn’t even know before. Still has mother, her kind smile and her knowledge. Still has father, as well, although Fugaku stays distant most days, wallowing in regrets and things that make the air around him terribly cold.
Sasuke is glad, selfishly, for that small mercy.
He could have lived without the ghost drama, though.

    ...

Or: the one where Sasuke can see ghosts, and things aren't as bad as they could be.

    Summary

Like everyone, Akai knows the old stories. Violent deaths sometimes – rarely – leave behind echoes. Traces of the soul who met a sudden end. A remnant of the deceased visible only to those who shared in their death, who can’t pass over until they complete a task.

He’s never known it to actually happen, though. Certainly never imagined it would happen to him. He sinks down onto the side of the bed, puts his revolver down on the bedside table. “Scotch,” he says, tiredly.

It's not Sakura's fault she's a bit spacey and distracted. You would be too if the dead refused to leave you alone.

    Summary

Sakura died in the war, giving everything she had to save others. Like Tsunade, she used her own vitality—but unlike her mentor, she pushed beyond her limits, burning through every last drop of life she had. Her short existence was cut off in the name of sacrifice.

She thought she would find peace in the Pure Lands, a well-earned rest after her struggles. But instead of moving on, something latched onto her soul, dragging her back. It pulled and twisted until she felt her very core distort.

When she woke, she was bound, sealed away in utter darkness, with only silence as her companion. Was this a punishment? A cruel joke? She had no answers. Time became meaningless, slipping past like an endless river with no beginning and no end.

Then, until one day, the seal broke.

Finally free, Sakura stepped forward—only to find herself staring at a duck-turtle paddling lazily in a pond. Overhead, a flying hyppocow drifted through the sky, looking as if it had no fucks to give.

Yeah. This wasn’t her world at all.
