Summary
The king in the image was both a stranger and eerily familiar. He had dark hair, the same shade as Susan’s own, and a sharp, angular face. He wore a silver crown on his head and his clothes were fine, edged with silver embroidery. A sword hung at his waist, a shield over his arm. He stared out of the stone with piercing dark eyes, spearing Susan with a look that struck her to her soul. He was so familiar that it ached, but Susan was equally sure she’d never seen him before. “Who is he?” she asked.
Edmund sighed. “That’s me. Biologically, that will be me fourteen years from now. In my memories, that was me one year ago. For the Narnians, that was me thirteen hundred years ago.”
Susan’s head was spinning. She tried to focus on what on earth he meant by thirteen hundred years, but was caught up on the one word she didn’t know. “What are Narnians?”
OR: Edmund, not Lucy, was the first one to enter the wardrobe and came out mentally fifteen years older, as an entirely different person. One year later, his siblings are about to find out what exactly transpired in the strange land called Narnia where their brother was once king.

Summary
"They spoke of marriage, of securing his rule with a queen. Advisors whispered of noblewomen, foreign princesses, alliances that could be sealed with a wedding.
Caspian refused.
“It is too soon,” he told them.
It will always be too soon, he thought.
Because every time he imagined a future, he saw dark eyes watching him with quiet amusement. He heard a voice that challenged him, steadied him, called him out when he needed it most.
And there was a tiny, fragile, almost nonexistent voice inside him—one he barely dared to acknowledge—that whispered:
Maybe someday they’ll return. Maybe someday he will return.
To him. To his side. To listen to all the things Caspian never got the chance to say.
So he worked harder. He ruled wisely. He built the Narnia Edmund had once fought to protect.
And if—when—the day came that Edmund stepped back onto the Narnia's land, Caspian swore he would not be speechless again."

Summary
The men who kidnapped him were supposed to turn him over to the king of Telmar for a public execution, to assert Telmar's dominance over Narnia in the ongoing war. However, in typical Telmarine fashion, they had double-crossed the king and so now Edmund sat, hands bound, in a rowboat headed for the slave market at the Lone Islands.
"You'll live to regret this," Edmund said.
The Telmarine rowman had a face pockmarked by the sun and a crooked nose like he'd been on the losing end of one too many fights. He grinned without humor and said, "Ah, perhaps. But the point is, young prince, I will live."
Edmund couldn't argue the point. King Miraz had a habit of tying up loose ends with the edge of a knife. "It isn't Miraz you should be worried about," Edmund said, returning the shrewd grin. "It's my mother."
OR
Edmund has spent seven years in Narnia going from captive to sorcerer to prince, but when he gets the chance to escape to a life of freedom with a handsome pirate captain, he takes it. But Jadis is not willing to give up her link to power and the deep magic so easily, and Edmund and Caspian will have to fight to hold on to their life together.
