“You like it, right?” Shane whispered against his lips.
“Hm?” Ilya tried hard to focus on Shane’s words but Shane felt too good, the pressure of his ass on Ilya’s crotch too maddeningly distracting.
Shane leaned in so that his mouth was now right on Ilya’s ear, stilling his movements. “I said,” he breathed hotly, “you like it? Being my dog?”
And this was new. The words sent an electric shock down Ilya’s spine, making him involuntarily thrust up into Shane. Ilya swallowed, closing his eyes and nodding furiously, as Shane nibbled on his ear lobe and sucked sweetly at the skin there.
“Speak,” Shane said simply, the same tone he used when talking to Chiron or Anya. When talking to dogs.
“Fuck,” Ilya choked out. “Yes, da, yes, I like being your dog.”

Summary
It's the only salvation here, that Kelvin can become less monster, more man. Even more, he can again become the shy, hopeful boy that Vier first met, the one who maybe used Vier as a life raft, but who does love him in the twisted, horrible way he still does. Kelvin kisses Vier and it's not the demanding one from when he first started assaulting Vier, the one that tasted like acid filling Vier's mouth.
This is bearable if Vier accepts that Kelvin does everything, even the evil things, out of a love he does not know how to wield in a way that doesn't set fire to everything in his life. Including Vier.

The time Ray had with Sand had been the best time of his life. The truth was that he had never had as much fun as he did in those months when Sand was part of his routine. He never slept as well as he did in Sand's cramped, messy house. He never felt his heart literally bleed with passion like it did when Sand looked at him in the vinyl stores while they shared a retro headphone and listened to music from the 80s. That kind of thing only happened once in a lifetime and Ray knew it. That was the kind of passion you’d tell your children about to comfort them when their hearts were broken for the first time.
‘Dad knows how it is,’ he would say to his kids in the future. ‘I also lost the… Love of my life.’Ray's stomach flipped.
The love of my life!?
And, as if the pain that realization caused throughout his body wasn't enough, the Universe decided to charge all of Ray's karma at that moment when it made Sand kiss a guy right in front of Ray.
Damn, he was going to throw up.
