Summary
“so, you’re uh…” the blue skeleton in front of Sans had an odd pinched expression.
“an advanced AI” Sans clarified and his social program hissed at him to relax his posture “nothin’ more an’ nothin’ less”
Sans’ analytics quickly gathered the expression of each skeleton monster in the room to come to the conclusion that something was off. He carefully noted the odd atmosphere as the chime of a directive made itself known.
FIND A WAY HOME
Something in him settled and the red circlet at his temple evened out to a mild yellow.
“you sure about that pal?” the first skeleton’s red twin said as he picked his golden tooth after a pause.
“my social programming’s pretty complex, it can be hard to tell i‘m just a machine” Sans tried not to let incredulity sneak into his voice—of course he was sure.
“THAT CAN’T BE RIGHT” a lighter blue skeleton said rather intensely and Sans’ analytics scrambled to see where he went wrong “YOU HAVE A SOUL. RAZZ CHECKED YOU EARLIER”
Sans blinked at the accusation
Or
Sans is pretty convinced he’s a machine, everyone else is convinced he’s got issues.

Summary
Grillby looked down from his bar to a familiar skeletal face staring up at him.
Sans?
But no, for as disconcerting as the resemblance might be this was certainly not a cheeky comedian. If anything, the little one (where are the stripes?) was still, almost unnaturally so.
Huh.
He hadn’t remembered any other skeletons about besides the goofy pair, but there was no way that one of them (Sans it looked like) could have possibly hid the existence of a whole person; or perhaps he had, one he didn’t know he was hiding to begin with-
“ya know where Sans is?” an eerie voice rang and the room stilled, silence as Grillby felt a headache, the world began to spin and-
A cheek-splitting grin “he’s my dad”
Sure, but does he know that?
All at once Grillby was wiping down his counters closing up his bar without knowing how he got there. He paused, then shrugged and figured that he should probably keep some sweets on hand for future reference.
Or
Sans acquires more children than he knows what to do with. Papyrus is ecstatic, the rest of the underground decidedly isn’t. The children(?) are absolutely no trouble at all, if you can believe it.

Summary
One of the lights in his cell was dimmer than it usually was. Sans took a hesitant step away from a sleeping Papyrus towards the now darkened corner and created a Shadow.
Huh.
In the harsh white of the labs he had never really observed one and the way he could create the dark mimicry amused him. Stealing one final glance at his sleeping brother and taking a closer look at shadow-him Sans stared on in mild curiosity. He waved, the shadow waved back and for he was momentarily delighted.
“uh, hi?” Sans whispered at the Shadow and then promptly felt a bit childish; the Shadow wasn’t a real person after all.
But still, it was new and safe in a way that not much had been while he was in The Lab. And well, there was no real harm in talking to the thing, Papyrus was asleep and the doctors wouldn’t come until a bit later. There was no harm in talking to the shadow, but he really should have expected it when it started talking back.
Or
Despite popular opinion, magic doesn’t really have a discernible limit and Sans learns very quickly that belief is a hell of a drug. Now all he has to do is try and explain what he doesn’t understand to a bunch of other older versions of himself. Yuck.
