Summary
Sure, it's not fair, but his dead serial arsonist murderer of a father has managed to ruin his life from beyond the grave. It's even less fair that the one good thing he had, Regto, was burned away in the apartment fire. The last straw was how easily the fire starter was able to walk away from the scene.
Sure, they aren't blaming him. He's not in cuffs, but everyone thinks he did it. His only chance happens to be some random foster parent from several towns over. That's fine. He'll leave this place behind, but don't think for a second he's let it go. He may not know their face, but he'll find them. Then he'll do exactly what they've done to him: set it all on fire.
Modern AU! Rudo is left in the foster system after Regto dies in an apartment fire. Now he's gotta tucker on while being the only person who believes the fire wasn't an accident (or is he?).

“Is he one of the nerdy kids you used to beat up?” Mary asked curiously, popping some sort of Halloween candy in her mouth. Travis kept all of his in a bag in the trunk. Madeleine must’ve gotten it out earlier.
“He was the nerdy kid I used to beat up.” Travis nodded, looking down at his knees. “I already apologized pretty profusely for it.”
It was quiet for a while before Mary asked, “Have you two kissed?”
Travis looked up at her, a small smirk growing on his lips. “We’ve kissed… We’ve kissed a lot, actually.”
