Summary
Jason's seen a lot of weird shit in his life. It comes hand in hand with the whole hero thing. Magic, aliens, ghosts, weird mutations that have no business actually happening. Jason's seen a lot, and he's had enough experience to know that there's always something weirder he hasn't gotten to yet. He also knows a lot of it he isn't going to like, because that's his luck. He never gets the cool weird things. He gets the ones that try to eat his face, more often than not.
So waking up groggy and in a cell he's got absolutely no memory of isn't shocking, exactly. It's just unnerving, and really fucking unwelcome.

Summary
Assumptions tend to be harmless. Little misunderstandings, with no consequences but some temporary confusion, usually, but there are some incorrect assumptions that his family has made that Jason would rather were never corrected. Not if he's the one that has to correct it, anyway. Of course, the universe pretty much seems to enjoy screwing him over every chance it gets. Why would this be any different?

"Just because you don't trust me—"
"Why should I trust you, Hood?" Bruce said flatly. Like he was commenting on the weather. "You don't listen, you don't follow the plan, you're reckless and emotional and it—"
"It what.”
"It's going to get you killed. Again."
"Is that what you think?" He whispered, so softly Dick almost didn't hear it. Bruce turned to face Jason. "World's greatest fuckin' detective, doesn't even know how his own kid died? I should've fucking realized."

Summary
The last time Dick saw Jason in civvies he was 14, short for his age and all chubby, rosy cheeked enthusiasm. He’s none of those things now - broad shouldered and tall, eyes sunken above hollow cheeks, skin as grey as the granite headstone before him.
No guns or helmet or body armour in sight and Dick is glad for it, but Jason looks strangely diminished without them. If Dick didn’t already know that this was the same person that fearlessly led Batman and Nightwing on a meticulously premeditated gauntlet across the city a fortnight ago, he never would have guessed.
