“Buckley! You better not still be in bed.” Eddie calls out from somewhere he assumes is around his kitchen.
“Nah, no way, and miss seeing my Favorite Diaz? Down here”
This just causes Chris to giggle even more, as he makes his way towards Buck and the couch, Eddie not far behind.
Having the Diaz boys come by unannounced to see him isn’t surprising, especially since he was discharged from the hospital after the Ladder Truck bombing, but even more so since the tsunami. What is a surprise is to see a very excited Chris in Eddie’s old Army fatigue jacket, his Diaz patch that on Eddie would be proudly on his chest, is around Chris’s belly.
“What do you have there, Staff Sergeant Diaz?” Buck asks with a smirk, causing Eddie to roll his eyes.
“He found it in my closet while I was looking for his old crutches.” Since the new ones were swept away, the pier was left unsaid.
“Since I have no use for it anymore, I told him he could keep it, and he immediately wanted to show his Buck,” Eddie explains with a fond smile.
OR: Chris finds Eddie's Old Army Fatigues, and Buck gets inspired to make him something from them, causing a little chain reaction of revelations and events.
