Reduced to pale ashes and charred bones, doing nothing but trying to flee.
Was this what he had been so determined to stand for? Was this what he’d gotten down on his hands and knees and begged for forgiveness over?
Or: Zuko’s doubts about the Fire nation have been born and festering since the Agni Kai. Now the evidence is overwhelming, and Zuko turns on his own nation.

Summary
A year and a half has passed since Sozin's comet. The war is over, and they can finally rest. Suki, Zuko, and Sokka expected to be better. But they aren't. War doesn't simply disappear from the bones it's woven into. Children torn from their mothers with bloodstained hands and forced into soldiers' uniforms don't come home because the war has ended. Violence doesn't simply vanish.
Why would they be any different?

It was no secret between Suki and Sokka that they wanted Zuko. They wanted whatever they could get from him—a one night stand, a date, a lifetime together. In moments like these, she wondered how long they could keep the secret shuttered between them before Zuko noticed.
Zuko, for his part, was floating on his back in the pool, unafraid of the sun’s rays. As he drifted closer to her, drawn to her by the miniscule current, Suki flicked water at him. He spluttered, abandoning his floating position to stand up and splash water over her.
Or, a heatwave striking Fire Nation is the perfect opportunity for Zuko to flirt with Suki and Sokka.
