    Now, Obi-Wan doesn’t quite know what he’d been expecting, but he’d be lying if he said the jar full of brains doesn’t give him pause. He closes his eyes and lifts a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, forcing himself to take in one controlled breath after the other. “Whose?”
    . . .
    obi-wan gets blown to smithereens, and his padawans are quite literally left to pick up the pieces.

They were lucky he had been there and participating, otherwise he certainly would not have gotten involved in defending THAT. He hoped that being Master Yoda's favourite would give him enough time to come up with a convincing argument.
